SoHaSo’s saga continues with a sound selection of singlets. Singular recordings from separate artists, bound together through Nuno Dos Santos’ spellbinding powers of creation and combination. The results are SOMEWHERE I and II: two compilations released digitally this summer, with this final edition completing the diptych.

Continuing the theme of inner reflection caught in music, SOMEWHERE II tells us story after story. Stories of longing, of guilt, of bitter melancholy, yet on the other hand: hope, affection and even ‘Unity’, as Paul Hughes’ addition remixed by Chymera is aptly named. Stories of laying in fields, hoping to catch falling stars, or diving deep and seeing how far you can go, somewhere, something is happening. From Stefan Vincent’s almost meditative How It Could Have Been, to Kid Culture’s nearly euphoric Arp313. From Malbetrieb’s tearjerking Nim to Locked Groove’s gloomy Namibia.

With even more tracks wedged in between, the SOMEWHERE series feels like a sound based confessional. Telling unheard stories, exposing unseen surfaces and unheard sounds. A compilation to cherish, of which this is the second part. SOMEWHERE I was released digitally earlier this summer, with both parts being made available on CD in very limited quantities.

An intriguing combination of names known and unknown, it’s once again testament that there’s so much happening, somewhere, all the time.

Swedish producer Jeremy Olander must have known he was on to something when his 'Evade' EP became the biggest-selling release on Eric Prydz's Pryda Friends imprint in 2011. 

That was after the American-raised artist became the first to sign a multi-release deal on the label, preceding 2013's playful progessive house tune 'Let Me Feel' and last year's 'Jackie'/'DLIGTY'/'Lauderdale' on Pryda Recordings.

Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us.

Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates, showcases a more club-oriented beat structure alongside Kiasmos’ signature emotive instrumentation. 
 
Closing the EP is a remix from Berlin-based duo Tale of Us who met Kiasmos in London and twist the original downbeat title track
into their distinctively dark aesthetic. Pulsating hats and a driving bass loop add pace as the track builds toward an epic breakdown.

The ‘Swept EP’ will be released on 12”/DL via Erased Tapes on November 20th, 2015.

The first track 'Kope' unfolds an undertow trough its spheric guitar riffs colliding with the pulsing percussive components before the cascading bass line pulls you in even deeper. I started this track back in April 2015 and it was pretty much finished already by May. Once i had created those arps wobbling up and down my goal was to keep the feel of the track warm and kinda "classic house". It was the first track i made entirely without vocals after i had finished my album (which is 12 songs/full vocals) so i was pretty happy with myself still being able to create instrumentals.
In August i sent Hot Since 82 another track called "Night Walkers" and when he signed that i felt this one was a very good fit (the housy vibes) but at the same time represented something quite different musically, so the 2 tracks became the "Nightwalker EP" which you can now find on Hot Since 82's "Knee Deep In Sound" label.
