PlayPlay is an energetic voice of the US queer rave underground, based in Brooklyn by way of NC. Their music is inspired by what they grew up dancing to - 90s club anthems, jungle, breakbeat hardcore, industrial, classic house & techno, and old school hip-hop. PlayPlay has released on labels such as @sorry_records , knight week, @worstbehaviorrecs  , @fperecs , @jukebouncewerk and more. They have an EP coming out in June on Sorry Records and a few other releases forthcoming this year.

I've always felt a sense of calmness and grounding amongst chaos, and perhaps this is why I've always been so drawn to breakbeats. For this mix, I've weaved together new and old favorites, both dreamy and, at times, raucous, in the realm of jungle, drum and bass, and nu jazz (and a dash of techno). I end this mix with one of my favorite trip hop songs to bump in my car as a teenager.”

PlayPlay is an NYC-based DJ and producer who has spent years in the club, greatly informing their sound. They combine their penchant for percussion and bass with nostalgic samples in both their DJ sets & music production. PlayPlay's music is inspired by what they grew up listening to - 90s club anthems, jungle, breakbeat hardcore, industrial, classic house, techno and old school hip-hop. They have released music on labels such as Worst Behavior, Juke Bounce Werk and Knightwerk and last month released their latest EP "Maneuvers" on Brooklyn-based label Sorry Records.
