@facta & @k-lone93 have been on a roll recently. Their Wisdom Teeth label has seen them put out not only excellent music from Tristan Arp, but also Facta's brilliant downtempo album Blush and K-Lone's recent Zissou EP. Both hail from London but are now Bristol-based and they mix up many of the different styles you'd expect from those two musical hotbeds. Everything from 2-step to Baltimore, post-dubstep to deep house gets distilled into their sets and productions, but always with well-swung drums and high-pressure bass. 

The pair kick off the New Year for us with a nimble mix that moves smoothly through glossy house depths, stripped-back broken beats and elastic rhythms. There is always a rich layer of percussion, sweet vocal or elegant melody burrowing deep into your brain while the beats keep your body happy. It's a perfectly persuasive listen that eases you off the sofa and back to the dance floor in no time.

We bonded quickly at The Lot and spent the rest of a long & sleepless weekend eating good food, dancing, and trading hot slices of UKG and breaks well into the morning hours at the afters. It's truly a blessing to be swept into a new group of folks and immediately feel at home and in community. Out to don-ri, johnny donkz, ema, jio, murph, jeremy, amelia 1, amelia 2, joe, ayesha, && the whole crew -- until we meet again, on your side of the ocean or mine!!!

Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. I would describe myself as a kind but firm black aspiring farmer with no thoughts just vibes.

Q. How long have you been a part of the NY music scene?
A. I started off in the music scene in 2018 just going to parties trying to cure my depression. I started off going to hip hop/dancehall parties and loved it so much that I wanted to share it with the world. I created a website to promote events and do interviews on artists but as ADHD happened I dropped that to become a nightlife photographer/radio programmer/radio operationalist which has led me to all of my friends now but I never started to DJ. It was 2019 that I randomly bought a controller and here we are now. I am blessed to have grown and be recognized in the scene as I want to amplify black people.

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. Honestly, I got really high off the zaza one day and was listening to the Street Fighter 3 soundtrack and just got up and recorded the mix. I wanted it to be something I listened to on my birthday to vibe to and relaxes me. Purely selfish and I hope everyone feels relaxed when listening. Short and sweet xx
