Super ancient moods, inspired by the ancient culture located in the Geghama Mountains of Armenia, around the mysterious sites of Qarahunj and Zorats Karer, the Armenian Stonehenge. The strange animal-looking creature carved out of stone that you see in the artwork is called "The Guardian" and is a part of carvings of creatures called "Vishapakar", or "Dragon Stone". This culture existed around 2000 BC. These and other ancient human dwellings with mystical rock carvings and rock drawings left behind inspired my soul to take a journey deep into the past of mankind. ​ 🎶🪔🗿🗻🗿 🪔🎶

About the EP-*
Mahakali (Sanskrit: Mahākālī, Devanagari: महाकाली), is the much revered Hindu mother goddess of time, death and doomsday. 
She is the divine Goddess of the Universe in her most fearful and powerful form. She is also the consort of Mahakala, the god of consciousness, the basis of reality and existence. Mahakali in Sanskrit is etymologically the feminized variant of Mahakala or Great Time (which is interpreted also as Death), an epithet of the god Shiva in Hinduism. Kali and all her forms are the different manifestations of Mahakali.   
Mahakali's origin is contained in various Puranic and Tantric Hindu Scriptures (Shastra). In these She is variously portrayed as the Adi-Shakti-Goddess Durga, the Primeval Force of the Universe, identical with the Ultimate Reality or Brahman. She is also known as the (female) Prakriti or World as opposed to the (male) Purusha or Consciousness, or as one of three manifestations of Mahadevi Durga (The Great Goddess) that represent the three Gunas or attributes in Samkhya philosophy. In this interpretation Mahakali represents Tamas or the force of inertia. 
She is described as an abstract energy, the yoganidra of Vishnu. Brahma invokes Her and She emerges from Vishnu and He awakenes. 
She is the Goddess of time.

What lead to "Geghama" was an vision Ben aka Desert Raven had:

I had a vision of a man who went into the spirit world and found his ancestral mother, crying over one her children who died of starvation. His ancestral father was walking home from a hunt and fell to his knees in grief. One of their children looked up and said to the man, "I will be you, and you will be me." A shaman nearby was lighting a fire and chanting a sorrowful prayer for the family. He then started carving a picture of a lion on a rock. He said, "This is the guardian. He will protect our people. The Sky Father sent him." The shaman pointed to Mt. Ararat and disappeared in the wind.

This song is the ultimate mystical groove. The ultra deep intro with Armenia women singing, mournful duduk, the ancient monastic chant synth pads, the bone shakers and rattles immediately bend our sense of reality and take us way back in time to the times of our primitive ancestors, who lived in huts and caves, living in the mountains, carving their story on rocks. This brings us deeper into the mystic mood, at which point, the oud, bass synth, and kick come in. The slow, strong groove that starts is irresistible. The female and male chants and cries add incredible spiritual power to this haunting, beautiful, ancient mystical tale. The violin that comes in with the most passionate energy. One could come to tears many times in this song, slow down into the deep trance, then suddenly crying out in sorrow to the Heavens. The outro is excellent in how it takes the mystical trance to inescapable depths. The listener will never want to leave this song, but instead desiring to re-listen to and re-sing this sorrowful vision. The listener will also have a heavenly hope within, fed by prophetic, miraculous, powerful messages.

There is something called Asthu. Imagine it like a Casper flying next to you. It's there all around us. It's like the Indian version of guardian Angel. 
However, the difference is the Asthu is slightly laid back but disciplined. And it doesn't have a judgmental ability of its own. Rather, it respects you so much that it leaves the job to you and doesn't question. It won't choose for you. It won't know whether you mean it or not. 
Sometimes you say things you don't mean but it will make it come true. E.g. You wonder what if someone steals your footwear from outside temple, Asthu will bring the attention of a thief to your footwear and it will be gone. Sometimes it will miss listening to you.

So when you say something followed by tathastu, it means you have thought so much about what you are saying and calling the attention of Asthu to work along with you to make it come true. So, always be mindful of what you think and say. 
The literal meaning in English is ‘So be it' or 'apadiye aagatum' or 'apadiagapatathu' in Tamil.

EA Wave (short for East African Wave) consists of Nairobi-based DJs/producers Ukweli, Sichangi, Hiribae, Nu Fvnk and Jinku, heard on  Boiler Room, Red Bull Music Academy, 1Xtra, and Worldwide FM - as well as receiving stacks of African coverage. This debut on vinyl presents new sounds from their native Kenya. We’ve listened to the tracks a lot, and concluded that Contemplative House is a good descriptor. Expect beautifully crafted beats, hazy synths, and inch-perfect bass, constructed for the intimate dancefloor.

Apo-dhātu or āpa-dhātu should be the combined nature of fluidity or viscosity, solubility and perhaps a few other similar features of any fundamental piece of mass. Although water could have been mentioned by Buddha as the best example of this nature, any solid or liquid or gas would possess its own extent of this nature.

The nature of the arts is one of those ancient enigmas which keeps thoughtful minds constantly philosophizing on its power. The mystery of art is deepened by the fact that inspiration can burst at anytime; any sound or fleeting glance can trigger a masterpiece. How can that be explained? We don’t know, and maybe we never will, but what matters to us is tending to that inspiration, and the conditions in which it thrives. This is the story of MA, the latest EP by Batu Ozer, which we are happy to bring to our listeners today. Old recordings of saz or string instruments resembling long-necked lutes, triggered the creative genius of the artist, and five new aural gems were the result.
The title of the album means “water” in ancient Turkish language. Its sonorities and motives evoke the elegance and preciousness of the old Anatolian history. Sounds of spilling water remind us of the fountains found in the courtyards and gardens of gilded palaces. Gentle choirs blend with lutes and finger percussion, effectively transporting us to the public intimacy of the ‘Arfana’: the public musical gatherings of the old times. All of the artist’s productions reflect this ancient beauty, which skillfully revisits and elaborates with electronic effects, resulting in a timeless weave of antiquity and modernity.
