10 is a number that looks very nice. Fresh and friendly it says: „Hey Hello, look, now we are two“ ...the 1 and the 0. The binary base of your civilization. Somehow we got the feeling, we should honor this. Why so ever, lets just do it, because it is beautiful, beacuse our music that we record and produce is also just a binary code, transforming over and over again, from our fingers on the synths, from the mic to the mixer, from the mixer into space, back on black plastics or bluetoothing through your walls directly in your ear...and this just because there is a 1 and a 0. This is why we celebrate, to say thank you to these magic numbers. Without these two little friends we would drum our techno with bones in analog caves. Naked. Oh Wait...that sounds great...the URSL Cave Raves. Mmmmh...well we will keep you in the loop on this new project. It's all about the early 90s vibes on this 12" from Fauvre as four underground anthems from the era are revisited. Forty Wings Dynamo's 'Inversion' has a dubby, dreamy progressive house feel, its epic outlook and echoing percussion inevitably bringing Leftfield's first handful of 12"s to mind, before 'Raveolution' (Acid mix) brings a more jungle techno feel with sliced up breaks skittering around the four-to-the-floor kicks. Pedro Bertho's 'TOITOI' starts side two, nodding to Jaydee's 'Plastic Dreams' with its soulful keys creating magic over a simple, banging techno framework before COEO's 'Vertigo' gets to work with its proto-breakbeat beats and one utterly orgasmic breakdown. Well worth a step back in time.

INCOMING : Forty Fings Dynamo - Inversion #Fauve

Berlin-based duo CYRK return to Switzerland’s Folklor Nation this October with ‘Twinkies’, accompanied by a remix from Belgium’s DC Salas. 

Pascal Hetzel and Sammy Goossens better known to most as CYRK have been making their Electro, Techno and IDM tinged music together in Berlin over the past decade with releases on the likes of Cultivated Electronics, Running Back, Polari, Rawax, Science Cult and of course Folklor Nation where they return here following 2021’s ‘Out Of The Pink’ EP. 

Title-track ‘Twinkies’ leads the release and lays down five and a half minutes of a raw, crunchy drum machine workout, plucked bass and murky synth swells alongside squelchy acid licks and ravey stab sequences. ‘Escape To Uranus’ follows next, employing a chuggy arpeggio bass line and shuffled drums at its core while mind bending lead lines and twitchy 303’s further fuel the frenzied club feel of the composition. 

Brussels based artist DC Salas then reworks ‘Twinkies’ to round out the release, delivering a typically dynamic, cosmic and crisp interpretation, extracting the core of the original while instilling his unique dreamy aesthetic and ever evolving, cinematic feel to things.

THE MAGIC MOVEMENT : ‘’The Magic Movement is excited to present the first remix EP of Noema’s new album, ONE - featuring five fantastic remixes by Kalabrese, Lauer, Mehmet Aslan, Panthera Krause, and Shubostar. Ranging from Nu-Disco, Funky Electronic Breakbeats, to Indie Dance, these tracks will surely have you dancing your way into new dimensions.
In the first track, Kalabrese brings us a magnificent re-jam adding funky keyboards, live drums and his trademark vocals on top of the original. Next, Lauer offers a hypnotic leftfield Disco tune, featuring a bubbly arpeggio synth, live drums and a catchy melody! Following this, Mehmet Aslan’s remix is filled with rhythmic textures, playful melodies, and funky electro breakbeats. Panthera Krause’s remix is an energetic dance track driven by mind-bending arpeggiators and syncopated chords. And lastly Shubostar brings her infectious and groovy “cosmic disco” sound to the funky and absurd universe created by Noema.
The original piece ONE is an “interactive performance concert” that includes original music, interactive choreography and stage design, theater, costumes, videos and remixes. Over the past year and half, Noema has created an impressive cosmos: He has written and recorded the music with a small orchestra, but also created the story, texts, costumes, graphics, videos, choreography, and showed an early experimental version at Garbicz Festival 2022.
In ONE, Noema tells the story of his space explorations, in which he manifests as four Interdimensional Space Voyagers. Because humanity has lost their ability to play and connect with each other, these entities became trapped in our dimension and now put on performances to re-power their portal, so that we can all be interdimensional again!
During the performance five dancers invite up to 120 people from the audience to join the action.
As the founder of The Magic Movement, Noema is a pioneer in the electronic and downtempo scene in Europe. As co-producer and A&R he released iconic records of artists such as Xique-Xique, Carrot Green, Kermesse and discovered artists like Oceanvs Orientalis.
DJing since 1997, and being former resident DJ in the legendary Berlin Club institution Wilde Renate for a decade, Noema has been touring the world with his eclectic and stunning DJ sets just as long. His extended sets go up to 10 hours and are indeed the stuff of legends. In his studio work, he has collaborated with electronic music heavy weights like Apparat, Dj Dixon and Grammy winners Basement Jaxx.
