It must be good to be the owner of a record label. Even better if this label is a respected one, like Nein. Whenever you feel bored, you just need to release some new stuff, invite a couple of friends to provide some cool remixes, send a message to a fellow dinosaur soliciting a premiere, and that’s it, you got yourself a new EP! The lack of need of sending out demos is the closest someone must get from Paradise.

Yes, we are talking about Neil Parnell aka Tronik Youth (SXDNS050): He returns with a powerful new single on his own label. “U R A Slave”, with its Sunday-Bloody-Sunday-like militaristic drum rolls pounding into the chorus, delivers a mighty heaviness – kind of aggressiveness – to the dance floor (the piece of heaven on Earth that we all have been craving to go back to). 

Black Light Smoke and Mundo D take over the remix duties, and we were requested to review the former’s contribution. The North American producer brought to the original an electro/darkwave 80s vibe, removing the soldierly attitude and bestowing a sleazier and breezier aura. The label boss must have loved it – so do we!

PREMIERE: Marching Machines - Mangata (Venice Arms Remix) [Wrong Era]

Something was on his tail and he didn't know what. There'd been no time to look back over his shoulder, the only focus was to keep up the pace and hope whatever it was didn't catch up with him. He had no idea what his destination was and the streets were becoming increasingly unfamiliar the further he ran. Gasping for breath he felt his body start to slow as his heart rate soared, he'd not though about what would happen when he'd run out of steam, but that time was closing in...

Eliezer loves a good collaboration. The Tel Aviv-based artist thrives when he joins forces with artists peddling a similar sound: the likes of Middle Sky Boom, Niv Ast and, more recently, Ackerman, under the guise of Deadly Weapons. Of course he releases solo too but for his next EP, a return to local label New Day Everyday, he's bringing more friends along for the ride - some old and some new. Affiliates Niv and Ackerman are back on board, joined by vocalists Vongold and Isadora and the minds behind Mexican label Duro, as well as NINAY who's the collaborator for our pick, a sludgy old school acid cut with a subtle Middle Eastern touch.

As head of Italian (centric) Slow Motion label and through his own productions and remixes, Franz Scala has been pioneering the retro-futuristic aesthetic of club culture weaving together elements of proto-house, wave and Italo for the nuovo contemporary dancefloor long before it's current vogue. Now alongside Bordello A Parigi, and supported by Sameheads, Slow Motion presents Scala's euphoric debut LP Mondo Della Notte. 
A homage to the world of the night where Franz plies his trade. Solid production and understanding of the various references informing the contemporary dancefloor imbues this set with a quality of permanence. Each track clocks-in at around the seven minute mark accommodating all Scala's retro influences providing the space for walls of sounds to expand and unfold along these infectious rhythm voyages.

Australian born and New York based artist Kate Stein has been gaining notoriety as a DJ and producer, gracefully moving into 2021 with full force and a positive vision for better times to come around the corner. 
She has a slew of remixes and original EP's scheduled to be released in the upcoming months and building this momentum, here she joins forces with her favorite underground legend Moo Moonster.
With her signature playful approach she taps into Moo Moonster's unique and upbeat indie dance rhythm when remixing his track "Don't Take it Serious".  
Out on the mexican label LUMINEUX RECORDS March 1st, the original "Don't Take it Serious" was inspired by and pays tribute to "The Slits Band" - raw female punk at it's finest.  
In Kate Stein's Remix, expect weaving sounds from start to finish, working with bursts of hypnotic energy and positivity before a much needed breakdown that allows you to catch your breath, just in time to dive back into the essence of a sweaty dance floor.  Best served with friends!
