Our beloved resident dj, @mulomusic is back on our mix series with this bouncy and groovy mix recorded live at The Villa in Oslo this past august.

MULO’s journey into the world of music has been nothing short of enchanting. From a young age, he was immersed in a diverse range of musical genres, but it was the mesmerizing rhythms of African music that truly captivated his soul. MULO sharpened his percussive skills on African djembe, establishing a profound connection with the primal beats.

However, it was a fateful night in Berlin, while at a RISE party, that MULO experienced the profound revelation of the possibility of fusing his love for deep house music with the captivating essence of African rhythms. The harmonious blend of these two worlds became his artistic calling.

Today, MULO stands as a member of one of Oslo’s most colourful concept Epiphany Kollektiv (@epiphanyoslo) as well as Oslo chapter of Djuma Soundsystem’s concept IZIKI (@izikiglobal). MULO’s artistic prowess lies in his ability to distill a potent mixture of Afro House, Afro Tech, and Deep House, tinted with a shimmer of live percussions. MULO has become an integral force in Oslo’s club scene, painting vibrant sonic landscapes filled with warmth and voodoo-infused vibes that transport listeners to a world where rhythms unite, cultures converge, and music transcends boundaries.

Sounds Over Seas is ready to release its very first LP by label founder Julian Bainbridge. The album covers aspects of the Deep House genre in its classic definition, pushing certain boundaries, whilst maintaining the spirit of the genre through feeling and utilising melodies and rhythm to evoke emotions which go beyond the dance floor. Keeping it raw throughout the nine tracks, each one incorporates different elements of the music spectrum. Implementing jazzy tweaks, minimalistic rhythms, haunting melodies as well as ambience and globals sounds in a full dancing and listening experience.

DJ set recorded live at the Underground Crypt stage @ SOUND inside the monastery walls of Gabriel Loci.

One of my favourite types of sets when you can build the energy layer by layer, letting space and patience shape the mood. All while keeping that hypnotic, meditative tension throughout.

Nowadays it feels really special to play this kind of deeper, slower sound - something that’s been fading from Prague’s scene over the past few years. I’ve missed this energy and it felt right to bring it back in this event.

Veteran French electroclash artist Electrosexual, a key figure in shaping the genre's sound alongside peers like Miss Kittin and The Hacker, unveils his “Like That” EP on Rock Machine Records, featuring Franco-Vietnamese vocalist Nicky Miller. This collaborative multi-track offering captures the raw energy of their spontaneous live chemistry, fusing Electrosexual's signature analogue production with Miller's haunting and emotive vocals.
