Ladonia is a micronation  proclaimed in 1996 by the artist Lars Vilks. In 1980, he began construction of two sculptures, Nimis and Arx in the Kullaberg nature reserve in north-west Skåne, Sweden. The location of the sculptures is difficult to reach, and as a consequence they were not discovered for two years, at which point the local council declared the sculptures to be buildings, and demanded that they should be dismantled.  Vilks appealed the decision of the council, but lost. He appealed repeatedly, and finally the case was settled, in the council's favour, by the Swedish government. Frank Agrario has given Ladonian citizenship this year and titled the label's second release to his new nation. 

The peaceful and deep nature that surrounds Nimis really impacted the sound. There is a certain deepnes  that dominates the tracks, still the beats are funky as usual and percussion and dub fx work is an undeniable Frank Agrario's trademark.
The Rmx comes from his Majesty RICK WADE that sparkled the release with his magic  Detroit's vibe, a masterpiece. 
Note : Anthem is the first recording of Ladonia's national anthem known to be pressed on vinyl.

Our new In Focus mix series have been brought to life during times of isolation. And what’s better than spending your time diving into new music or DJ-sets from artists you admire? That’s what we thought. The next couple of weeks, we will be asking one artist each week to deliver a mix build around a self-picked theme. Who else would be better to kick off with than our dear friend Palms Trax? Not only has Jay been a favourite of ours for years, he has become probably everyone else’s as well. His contribution to In Focus is one we have listened to in one go: a “100% originals, features, edits and remixes by Joaquin Joe Claussell” mix, which resulted in a stirring and spiritual tribute to one of the all-time greats.

Palms Trax: “Over the last couple of years I’ve found his music to have this wonderful effect on a dancefloor where the whole place can feel like it’s levitating, so when lockdown hit I started going through his records at home and found it to be incredibly healing. Hopefully some people out there feel the same way!“.

Our tenth instalment in the Theory Therapy series is extra special as it comes from one of the genuine masters of deejaying: Finn Johannsen. Since first cutting his teeth in the 80s playing on the Rare Soul circuit, the veteran selector has garnered a reputation as one of the most versatile and skilled DJs around. The Kiel-born, Berlin-based selector is also behind the Macro Recordings imprint, which he co-runs with Stefan Goldmann. As well as having worked at Berlin’s Hard Wax, he’s also a well-respected writer among music aficionados, contributing to numerous publications over the years. 

For many Australians though, the Berlin selector is best remembered for his incredible 4-hour closing set at Inner Varnika in 2018. In some respects, his Theory Therapy mix feels like a spiritual sequel to that special evening in Victoria. It possesses the same warm, soulful tip, sounds like virtually no one else, and displays his uncanny ability to effortlessly combine sounds from across the globe into one free-flowing, spellbinding trip. He might make it look easy, but the best usually do. So sink into the vibes and allow the masterful Finn Johannsen to take you there—few do it this well.
