Premises

Après avoir eu la chance de jouer ensemble (Alain et Yan), dans le cadre de live, l'envie d'élaborer une sorte de "disque-univers" autour du livre-univers qu'est les furtifs s'est faite jour. Un disque-univers qui restitue, au fil des titres, à la fois la dimension narrative du roman (scènes-clés, tensions dramatiques comme Le cube, Sahar et Lorca, Réalité Ultime) que sa dimension imaginaire et poétique (Vivre ivre, Transfusion, Overmars) sans mettre de côté les valeurs politiques portées par le livre, notamment son vitalisme et sa radicalité (Entrer dans la couleur, Mantract). 

Artistiquement, Yan Péchin portera de part en part et de bout en bout la totalité de l'album. Il va en architecturer les morceaux, composer la structure, il en choisit les textures, les mélodies, les harmonies, s'appuyant sur une douzaine de guitares (acoustique, classique, électrique, dobro, basse…) qui sont autant de personnalités, et dont il tire, par son jeu de pédales, son rack magique d'effets, des possibilités tellement extensives qu'il peut faire sonner ses cordes comme un orgue, un violon, un drone, une nappe, un beat, directement et en condition de live. 

Sa force tient tout autant à son talent de mélodiste, qu'à son sens structurel et à sa faculté d'extirper de ses guitares une gamme assez époustouflante de sons vivants, matiéristes, bruitistes, stridents, chauds et doux, caressants et agressifs, sablés, grésillant ou liquides, si bien que chaque scène que le texte essaie de déployer, il en trouve la correspondance physique d'abord, par ses sons, avant même de les mettre en musique.
 
En travaillant à huis clos à deux, avec la seule voix d’Alain Damasio pour porter les textes, le risque était de fermer un peu l'album. Il a donc été souhaité faire appel à un batteur de haute volée, Arnaud Dieterlin, très complice avec Yan, pour soutenir la motricité rythmique des morceaux et les aérer par une batterie déstructurée, libre. Pour la voix, le contrepoint d'une voix féminine, très lyrique, celle de Mood, a semblé idéale pour contrebalancer au timbre plutôt rond et chaud d’Alain.

Dear friends and listeners,
a few words about what this album 'preconscious' and its genesis.
His first title i chose for her perfect ability to define this place in mind which arise the emotions, then the senses images, stored in memory, accessible when the process of awareness.
At the base of the project, i chose the name of my son who was still 'in the pipeline', it is this impulse that i started to work: how to welcome and get ready myself at his coming. Then i felt the need to broaden the spectrum, about the conditions necessary for this coming, approaching love, trust, endurance. Desiring to do a 'fiction' i kept the title ‘arya’ only realistic trace of this birth. So i talk about these choices, those who gather and those who separate, the various crucial stages of a relationship, the desire to remain upright, prepare and keep his way, and that which is done to my family.
From my current location as well as the cultural and generational clash that every day i measure the size, i wanted to attempt a dialogue. it certainly there's much moral in this project and i fully assume. I have the ambition to share this aspect of my life with the generations that follow, the photographic and visual choices and some of the texts are illustration of it. And to go back to the preconscious, this need has been paired with this sudden realization.
Some may find this album less researched, less dense and much less dancing than before. As some of you know, i no longer recognize myself in this square of green that is music for clubbing. This format, nor its rationale doesn’t represent me at the moment. With this album, i take off, leaving the scene that brought me so she forced me. I do not know my next destination, but hope to see you there and hopes that you will find refuge in this latest opus as a welcoming and warm.
