Somnium were a rock originals band from the North West of England.  Their music fused melody and rhythm with a crunchy biscuit base which resulted in intricately deep and emotive hard rock tracks.

Hannah Slater and Keith Lythgoe have been writing together for years, first off in their former band The Camarillas; a mix of acoustic and electric folk/rock songs, and now as Somnium.

Somnium formed from the embers of The Camarillas when Hannah and Keith started to experiment with a bigger sound.  After a few line up changes, Joe Smith joined on bass (also formally The Camarillas) and Bob Ormiston on guitar.  A few drummers later and the awesome Dean Baylis (of former Grunge/Rock trio Degeneration Fuzz) joined them on drums.
