Somnivirus is an Australian Heavy Metal Band on a quest to revitalise the mastery of all eras of metal including elements of thrash metal, heavy metal, death metal and groove metal. 

The genesis of this mission occurred in the ancient foraged lands of the Ku Ring Gai National Park. 

From the stump of a Eucalypt in the ancient lands of Ku Ring Gai a young virulent man known as Russell awoke from his slumber...

With no recollection of how he had landed under the depths of this canopy, he rubbed his dreary eyes and a great branch fell in front of him, etched with a powerful message in the tongue of Somnidote.

It read as such:
‘Thee must taketh this great branch and from it, carve the greatest axe this generation has seen. You must awaken the masses from the omnipresent hypnosis of the LCD screen, known scientifically as the Somnivirus... Go and awaken the masses’

The memories came swarming back... He had ended up in this forest from a delirious hypnotic state from a late night in the office.

Invigorated with this newly gained information, Russell went to the local guitarsmith and had a perilous axe carved out for him, to save the masses from the fate of the Somnivirus.

The rest would be revered across the lands in the ancient Scrolls of Somnidote, which are still being written to this day in the form of powerful riffs from the depths of hell.

Legend states that the day these riffs discontinue, the Somnivirus will take over the Earth.
