Disruption // boisha Podcast 008

VOLTAGE Podcast is a bi-weekly podcast series, broadcasting both upcoming and well-established artists within the techno scene. Every episode features a lengthy set surrounded by a spoken in- & outro. Currently based in Berlin, it comes as no surprise that Edward Treleaven a.k.a. Tred comes from Australia when you have a first listen to his sound.

Going into his discography, we can clearly see a transition into maximal composition evolving from three releases between 2018 and 2019 to his current work starting in 2021. With the first two on New York’s E-missions label, the tempo is relatively high, but remains familiar, characterized by spacious melodies over thinner Detroit electro grooves. The last release in this style, ‘Planet Perth’ came in the form of a 4 track EP with remix invitations for unignorable electro artists Privacy and fellow Australian Jensen Interceptor.

With a small pause in 2020, Tred came back in force the following year with a new sound for back to back releases on Lobster Theremin’s main label and sub label 1Ø PILLS MATE. These tracks mark a switch where high intensity, hybrid techno becomes the focus to fully match the label’s artistic direction.

Making a solid impact in a rapidly evolving scene, Tred confirmed his relevance with these last two releases to push forward a DJing career that takes him all over Europe and Australia. Playing alongside heavyweight artists all over, it doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon for him.

The Berlin-based Viscerale with Persian/Polish roots was born in Hamburg, where the experimental music scene shaped her perspective on sound. She has a classical background in piano and  found her passion to select music for the right moment since she was young. 
After releasing the first mixtapes around 2015, she switched much later from the dancefloor to the DJ booth, and started to play all over Europe & beyond since end of 2017. Besides holding a temporary residency at Ved Siden Af in CPH, she played in Berlin´s famous Clubs like Berghain, Tresor, Ohm and RSO, and is found regularly in metropolises like London, Amsterdam, Paris and Copenhagen. Her emotional Techno journeys are seeking high energy levels in a playful way, with twists of Trance, Gabber and beyond. Viscerale feels most comfortable outside of the comfort zone!

Anyone serious about their techno will certainly have come across the name Mark Reeve. Moving to Germany from England 15 years ago in search of an inspirational scene that embraced his tough, uncompromising sound. First discovered by Sven Väth, Mark has since gone on to establish a reputation totally respected by his peers through groundbreaking productions on iconic labels such as Cocoon, Drumcode, Soma, Second State, Bedrock, ELEVATE, Intec, Bek Audio, and many more.

Fully established on the scene, Mark has helped push electronic music forward as a solo artist, while working with true heavyweights like Adam Beyer and Pig&Dan. Equally at home behind the decks and a mixer live as he is in the studio, Mark’s DJ sets have been receiving fantastic feedback. His talent and artistic vision take listeners on a thrilling journey full of hard-driving beats and intense melodies at dance floors around the globe, such as Awakenings Gashouder, Space Ibiza, Fabrik Madrid, or Rex Club.

As an essential step in his evolution, Mark set up a record label in the form of the excellent SubVision. SubVision acts as a platform not only for Mark but also for all kinds of true talent to keep pushing their underground sound onto dance floors worldwide. SubVision has been quietly growing and maturing in its approach, encompassing Mark’s values as a DJ and Producer. It offers a forward-thinking selection of all-new cutting-edge music with a focus on breaking new artists alongside established names at the top of their game.
