Madorasindahouse’s yearly compilation has become somewhat of a staple of trends for the year to come. Including newcomers and old friends, MIDH Selects provides a handful of selections ranging from afro, afro tech, soulful, or deep and organic house music of the highest quality. 

This year, for the 4th installment, we have compiled 14 tracks from producers from all around the world.

Debuting on the label, we got Morda from the legendary duo Black Motion, SA’s own Deep Narratives, Soulholic & 7options, Massh, and unique Spanish talent G.Zamora, Thimble, Homeboyz from Portugal, Israeli and Greek collab between Moish & Vasilis featuring Idd Aziz, Berlin-based Los Cabra in collaboration with Cacao's Carlos Barbero, intriguing Belgian producer Copal, Haza from France, Gone Deville from Canada, and legendary deep house greek producer DSF. 

Also, returning to MIDH, it's the greek Maestro Nikos Diamantopoulos and Void Mykonos Resident Liva K.

One of South Africa’s finest producers joins the Sondela family with three singles lined-up for 2023, as well as DJ appearances planned at Sondela events worldwide. Known for building mesmerising soundscapes within his music, Thakzin takes us on a universal journey of elevation and spiritual vibrations whilst manifesting the healing power of music. ‘The Magnificent Dance’ is a fusion between deep house and Amapiano, featuring entrancing loops that conjure up images of nature, flitting between the real and the fantastical. The versatile and forward-thinking producer has become a firm favourite of international A-listers Louie Vega, Pablo Fierro, David Morales and many others, and has recently surpassed 1M streams collaborating with Themba in 2021. With a sound that is deeply rooted in African culture, ‘The Magnificent Dance’ is widely anticipated to be one of South Africa’s hottest musical exports.

Fairplay drop three remix versions of Latlal on their latest release from Zatar Music.  

The original appeared on Phonique’s new label in August, and now the Jordanian duo called in some big guns to add a spin to one of the tracks of 2022. 

First up is Hyenah, a resident of Watergate’s famed RISE afro house parties. The main version balances the incredible vocals of Mariem Hassan with shuffling beats and a driving groove that draws from across the African continent and beyond. With releases on Freerange, Rise Music and Watergate Records Hyenah created his own signature sound over the past years and released his debut album 'Love In Time Of Crisis' in 2022.

The instrumental gives more space for the production to shine - definitely one for the DJs. 

Additionally the Spada remix brings in a melodic tech-house element to the track, further widening the reach of Fairplay’s essential original. Spada just founded his own label Ultimo Paradiso and gained attention with his releases on Diynamic, Anjunabeat, Armada and Stil vor Talent.

It is an introduction to DJ Kent’s Remix EP taken from his forthcoming album “WeeKent SunSets” which will be filled with Kent signature melodic and happy vocals on house music songs. One of the 1st singles is called “Horns In The Sun” which features Mo-T from Micasa on the trumpet, giving it a summer vibe that goes does down well with day hangouts and cocktail vibes.
 
The EP has remixes by:
 
- Thakzin; with his new style of beats called “3 step” currently taking the seen by storm, he added soulful yet happy vocal melodies by Brenden Praise and an energetic feel by Mörda.

As the European summer is in full swing, RISE presents South Africa’s latest iteration of dance music, 3Step, directly from one of the protagonists of the sound to the world.

The lead offering, ‘Hekele’ is a soulful and hopeful cut characterized by its shuffling percussion and delicate piano lines.

‘Ingane Zomama’ was made for open airs and sundowners, as its bouncing log drum, woodwind flourishes and warm piano progression evoke feelings of dancing with loved ones.

‘Baye Baye’ is a heady and introverted affair, with rubbery drums and tempo changes that demonstrate Atmos Blaq and Edward’s mastery of space and tension.

‘I Tried’ is a rueful ballad that ends the EP on a nostalgic and hopeful note as Kali Mija contemplates love and letting go.
