RE\MIND – About “CHORO”
I’ve always been a huge fan of Brazilian music especially vintage records and the work of Os Tincoãs has had a deep impact on me. Their music holds a rare blend of spirituality, rhythm, and melancholy that resonates on many levels.
Choro is built around a sample from their song Chorojô, which references Oxum the goddess of love, fresh water, and fertility. The lyrics are in Nagô, a Yoruba-based language.
Even though I’ve never been to Brazil, it feels close. 
I spend most of my days listening to old Brazilian records. This track is my way of honoring a culture that has shaped my ears, my heart, and my music. It’s also a special one because it’s a collaboration with DJ Justin Kan.
