Today is a horrible day. Some of you may know, and some of you may not, but Oakland is suffering a great loss. Many beautiful people who have touched my life and many others, are dead, or still missing due to a fire during a show. I am out of town, but if I was in Oakland, I would have been there. The lives lost or missing are those of creative, talented, smart, beautiful and special people. One of which is my vocal coach Ben (aka Charlie Prowler), another, Kiyomi Tanouye, helped me get my first EP released on Spotify, and Chase (aka Nex Iuguolo) has helped me with many photos. Life and death, including the beauty and disgust of both, have always been deeply rooted in my motivation to make music. This song was not going to be released until next year, but to honor these lives and this brief moment we all share here on earth, here is a new song titled: "Preparation for Death." It is Ben's favorite song of mine, he wanted me to give it to him first for his radio show, and sadly he is still missing… Please listen, cry, love, get mad, or do whatever you need to mourn and process this tragedy. This is what I have to offer to our community which is struggling today. May we all be blessed! This is a fucking hard time. I love you.
