The American poet, Emily Dickinson, was a solitary figure; since her death in 1886, some researchers have attributed her extreme social withdrawal to agoraphobia, amongst other anxiety disorders. This rendering of ‘If I can stop one Heart from breaking’ draws from the openness and simplicity of the lute song writing tradition of Dowland and his contemporaries.  – James Garner
