Life 
                     
Cruel Illness, I defy you,
I’ll not give in, I will stay true
to my own self and to my pride;
it’s my mind and I’ll decide
when it’s time for my defeat
though in the end I know you’ll cheat.

Chorus:
I’m wounded by a mortal dart,
not in mind - nor in my heart.
Symptoms cannot always seem to hide
but I am still myself inside,
full of love and happiness; 
though I am ill - I am not less…..I am not less!

 
Heartless nature struck the blow,
I am off balance and I am slow
but not of speech and I – I defy
the thought of weakness and I deny
that it stole my self and soul,
it’s my movement that pays …. a toll.

Gone Fishing

Oh, to sing and dance and play - on this ripping, rustic day 
Trees are turning red and gold. In the shade the air is cold

Falling leaves fly with the breeze. Flitting birds trill in the trees
By me flows a stumbling stream, where-in fish swim ‘round and dream.

And the clever fisherman -casts the fly with expert hand,
gets the flipping fish to bite - he’s my sweetheart or I might
Push him in to have a swim - see if someone catches him 
Push him in to have a swim - see if someone catches him! 


Look he’s caught a lovely fish! Never will it grace a Royal dish.
Gently he removes the hook - I don’t even want to look – hey!

Off it swims with one big flip - though the hook has hurt its lip.
Let the fish go off and play, on this ripping rustic day!

GONE FISHING

"Noordzeekind" is een lied op het gelijknamige gedicht van Heleen Wagemans uit Joure (tevens de zangeres van het nummer), gecomponeerd door Till Zuidema; Songwriter-Till uit Akkrum. 

dichtster Heleen zegt: "Noordzeekind is geïnspireerd op de mooie stranden van onze kust en de Noordzee, waar ik zelf vaak was in mijn jeugd en waar ik ook mijn eigen kinderen eindeloos heb zien spelen met zand en water. Hun onbezorgdheid en onbevangenheid was prachtig. Nu ze groter zijn, besef ik als moeder hoe kort die tijd eigenlijk is, als ze nog zo klein zijn en ook nog zo dichtbij.... In mijn gedicht Noordzeekind wilde ik mijn herinneringen aan die lieve strandmomenten vastleggen. Het gevoel dat ik in mijn tekst heb beschreven is door Till prachtig doorvertaald in de muziek. Je hoort de golven en de wind. In het filmpje heb ik de foto's van mijn eigen kinderen verwerkt en die van andere moeders met kleine strandjutters die dit speciale gevoel delen."
