90s Icelandic band SpaceMan Spliff remixed by T-World (later GusGus). Track written by Bjarki Jónsson and DJ Grétar.
First came out on a compilation album in Iceland called Egg '94. Later a remix version was released as a GusGus vs. T-World track called Anthem.

Luger (Sean Danke remix)

Northern Lights Orchestra (NLO) was formed late 90s in a collaborative work between Bjarki Jónsson, Birkir Björnsson and Frankie Valentine (who came up with the name). Later the band was signed to 20:20 Vision records and released two 12". Loverboy was the first one, followed up by Meditation. A track which was created in 1994 in a collaboration with few local DJ's in Iceland.

Originally created in 1991. Remake from 2014 when Mind In Motion played the Sónar Reykjavik festival.

Assault

Untitled was written and produced in 1998 by Northern Lights Orchestra members, Bjarki & Birkir with Sigga (Lyrics & vocals) and DJ/Producer Tommi White. Additional Lyrics came from former T-World frontman Beggi. Don Pedro did guitars and Raggi (Bubbleflies) did the amazing bass. Never released, but played few times in the clubs in Iceland back in 1998.

Untitled

Late 90's experimenting with the 909, Jupiter-4, SH-2 and SH-101. Adding the soothing flange synth pad from the Korg Trident. Produced by Bjarki and DJ Grétar (later Sean Danke).

Uniq 909

Another late 90's track from the SpaceMan Spliff duo. 909 with SC Six-Trak riff and soothing pad. What could go wrong? Mixed live on a Mackie 16 with DP4 reverb and delay. Fun times.

In 1996-1997 Frankie Valentine came to Iceland for a dj gig. Tommi White and DJ Grétar took him to the 24hour daylight studio to do a session with the Northern Lights Orchestra and a few  local artists. The outcome was a track named Twist 2 forget. Here is the ambient mix of it.

There was a slow ambient mix done by mistake. 44.1kHz <-> 48kHz conversion gone wrong. Sounded amazing though. It is also shorter because we had to fit it on the 12inch, only had limited space left.

Never Stop

Written before the bands performance in Héðinshús back in 1992. This version is a remake with all original sounds for the performance at Sónar Reykjavík.
The Roland W-30 sampler doing most of the beat work, also featured the Roland U-220 and Roland Juno-106. Also performing at this gig: Ajax, T-World, Soul Control and Pís of keik.

Beat Section

Another recreated track originally from 1992. The Roland U-220 doing a fantastic riff. Remember playing this first at Héðinshúsið in 1992. Was also performed at the Sónar Reykjavík gig.

Dizzing

Track never released and only played live once for the Ghost Army release party. Features the real 808 and 909 + the crazy Korg Trident strings and sequencer ZAQ.

First came out in 1992 on an album called Icerave. With artists like Ajax, di di s.even, Plan B and other artists from the early 90s scene in Iceland. Great artwork by Sharkey What does SAD stand for anyway?
The night before heading to the studio to record two tracks for the album, we only had one. I came up with this pad and build around it with samples from the guys in few moments. Turned out to be one of the stand out tracks for the album.

Reykjavík-born artist (1977) with roots in Iceland’s 90s rave scene (Mind in Motion, Svala collab "Was That All It Was"). Released house music as SpaceMan Spliff, The Icelandic Conspiracy, Northern Lights Orchestra. Worked with Móa, Páll Óskar, Selma, Bellatrix, Silvía Nótt, co-wrote "Þú komst við hjartað í mér". Found my identity with a big push by Stephan Stephensen (ex-GusGus) — now releasing as Sonic Deception since 2015.
