OVERVIEW:
The world of M_Rec refocuses on unassuming and dedicated dancefloor tracks with this release on the original Ltd. imprint by british producer and sound engineer Coefficient. Steering away from the saturated world of big and harsh techno, Coefficient concentrates on the craft of reviving and re-exploring archetypical mind-altering techno, rooted halfway between the American midwest and the heyday of british rave culture.

The opening 'Subsurface' takes advantage of a groovy refrain to showcase uplifting drum programming and shadowy soundscapes. A great set opener to put the room in the right mindset. Things get a little darker with 'Tesseract'. While the intricate patterns and basslines play the integral part in the track, there are intriguing melodies interplaying to make things sexier and affectively trippy. 
On the flip side, EP title track 'Blood Red' is a more maximal experiment, definitely meant to shake things up. Throughout this joint the synths get bigger and state-inducing, while the bass drum keeps things forward driving. It's a traditional loop-driven track that belongs in the apex of a proper techno set. Closing track 'Point of Departure' rediscovers British leftfield electronica and celebrates the early morning hours of outdoor raves. It's a track dedicated to the last few people standing, rich of melody and delays.

Soma welcome the debut album from the ever-growing roster of youthful talent as Lewis Fautzi drops The Gare Album, named in homage to The Gare Club, Porto, where Lewis made his discovery of Techno. A bold 4 track single debut gave rise to the album process midway through 2013 and under the careful supervision of Soma, Lewis has provided a definitive peak in his sound cultivated on the back of years of studio work. A collection of deep, dark and twisted techno awaits heralding a coming of age for the Portuguese native.

A droning, industrial vibe is immediate from the outset as Signal crackles into existence giving way to the cavernous UBV-76 with its concrete swathes of noise. High intensity pings form the depths give a sense of what is to come. Intriguing, broken beats deepen proceeding as Lewis takes things to The Other Side of Reality. A momentarily respite before he begins to open things up. Blocker takes the tempo up a notch with a thumping kick and looped out chaotic synths that slowly build the tension. This brooding atmosphere is carried on into the tweeked out and mesmerizing Sick, the punishing, bleeped workout of Range and the relentless, discord of Loudness. By this point Lewis has really worked up into a frenzy. Tight percussive workouts keep this album firing on all cylinders. A short interlude is offered as Opaque drifts quickly through the chaos of this straight to the floor album. Through the darkness, a glimmer of Hope shines through, albeit a cold and fleeting techno version as Lewis leaves you bare and bleeding. Yet more dance floor action as the elasticated synths of Binary (recently remixed by Spanish techno don Oscar Mulero) tear through the backbone of the album. By far Lewis’ most destructive track. The static buzz of Psychiatric is a welcome come down from the headiness of the previous track allowing Lewis to lead us through the black hole, ending on the Other Planet. It’s swirling, vortex like pads sliced open with subtle percussive, other worldly bleeps. A fitting end to this hyperactive techno journey.

A definite maturity in production shines through on this fantastic LP from Fautzi as he creates a cold and calculating output, clearly focused on the future. The Gare Album has allowed Fautzi to express himself fully through electronic music, a task that he has taken to whole-heartedly.

Seven years ago, Unbalance created his own label as a base for his musical ideas; a platform to play around with the conception of what "techno" is and would be alongside his own creative progression. On BAS008 we welcome Voiski and his uplifting take on techno. Cascading snares, dreamy melodies and a good dose of cosmically charged sounds make „Our Brilliant Failure“ a beautifully crafted ode to hope. The motive comes in many facets: starting off with „Sit Down Next To Me“ and it’s tightly knit melody, retrospective amalgamates with futurism. Then we dive into the roaring cave of „Chasing Shadows“, where the bass is deep and the synths cheeky. „TearSystem“ stays true to its name: rave romanticism in its crystallized form. Fading out on „Your Heart Starts To Race“ Voiski closes on a distant note, nevertheless attuned with the cosmic groove.

Adam X's highly respected, deep, science fiction laden, Traversable Wormhole project celebrates its 10-year journey with a first full-length studio album titled Regions Of Time. Lying mostly dormant since 2012, with a cameo appearance on Hospital Record back in 2016 with two tracks, TW is now fully awoken from the long travel through the space-time continuum with eight new songs of thought-provoking, psychedelic, bass-heavy, galaxian techno.
Adam X's back catalog is, of course, vast, spanning over a period three decades under several aliases. The New York native recently released his devious escapade through rumbling EBM and industrial techno in the form of his full-length album Recon Mission, released under his Sonic Groove Imprint. With this project being under the Traversable Wormhole alias, be sure to expect a completely different facet to X's repertoire of pounding excursions.

Ever since his early teenager days "Kareem El Morr" has been working on tracks in the studio. Techno was and has always been the basis. Dirty, raw and in a positive way escalating are his sets, which he has been playing since the mid of the noughties. Not being limited when playing in the clubs or producing in the studio makes him undisputedly one of the most versatile artists in Munich. How multi-faceted he is, is now being shown on his latest RFR release.

“Supersonic” throws the gate open wide to electroid sceneries. Not a few will be reminded of I-F’s “Playstation” by the first sounds of the decently wobbeling bassline. Sick bassline variations, breaky drum parts and a pinch of Neo-Goa – any questions?
„Quake“ portrays Morr’s infinite and unconditional love to Techno. Reminiscences of Detroit’s High Tech Jazz are floating relentlessly through widely varied rooms, which we absolutely adore since the Basic Channel era.
On the flip Morr expands his driving functionality by a melodic component. 
“Blaze” kicks in with a lot of delay, distorted bells and highspeed drums. This ain’t no dance, this is a ceremony!
„Trance with Benefits“ marks the ending of the “Supersonic EP”. Pictures of wafts of mist, whose intensity is being ruptured by the first rays of sunlight penetrating the club on an early Sunday morning. Happy people lying in each other’s arms, unified by the principle that Techno would be nothing without Trance.
