Funk/Rock/Metal/Fusion experiment - all flowing into one another.
I started with a 9/8 drum riff experiment, and morphed from there. The key is ever-morphing as well and never repeats itself throughout the song - even for reprises!

Image is of the long-lost NASA Skylab (post-Apollo missions in the 70's), which was damaged after launch, circled in a degraded orbit for a few years, and caused much anxiety when it re-entered the atmosphere without 100% certainty as to where it's pieces would fall!
It worked, but with much improvisation and adjustments!

Emeritus: retired or honorably discharged from active professional duty, but retaining the title of one's office or position.

Homage to the retired Kepler Space Observatory, named after astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), launched on March 7, 2009 and retired on October 30, 2018 after its reaction control system fuel was depleted, leaving it orbiting in its current safe orbit, away from Earth. During its 9 year lifespan, Kepler observed 530,506 stars and detected 2,662 planets!
