SONIC BOOM SIX return with their new single 'Virus', the first to be released by their new label Xtra Mile Recordings, on digital download on September 17th. 'Virus' gives a taster of the mix of rock, reggae and electronica accompanied by SB6's distinctive brand of social commentary that dominates their forthcoming album 'Sonic Boom Six'.

The video was directed by Jesse Davey (Papa Roach, Gavin Rossdale). The single will be available on digital download on September 17th and includes two awesome b-sides... a live recording of our 'Dangers of Rock n Roll / Friday Night / It Doesn't Matter' medley and a remix of 'Virus' by the fantastic Subsource.

SONIC BOOM SIX are releasing their new single 'Keep On Believing' as a digital download on 11th February through Xtra Mile Recordings. This follows up from 'Virus', the first single to be taken from the album 'Sonic Boom Six', which apart from gracing music TV channel and radio playists, is now on over 200,000 views on YouTube. A few words from Laila K about 'Keep On Believing'; "Personally this is my favourite song off the album as it reminds me of when I got into music and bands and how passionate and positive music can make you feel."

The single includes the exclusive B-Sides 'Let's Push Things Forward' (A studio version of The Streets cover version SB6 unveiled on their recent headline tour) and the Capitol 1212 remix of 'Keep On Believing'.

The video is a small tribute to the World Darts Championships at the moment, as well as a homage to the plots of our beloved films Cool Runnings and Dodgeball. The Boom Needs You! (Ska Mix)

'Natty Hawks' was produced and written over a number of months through email collaboration between From The Cradle To The Rave and Sonic Boom Six, who finally met when C-Rave supported SB6 at a show at Glasgow King Tut's. The bands immediately bonded over shared philosophies of pushing the boundaries of genre through their, admittedly very different, punk-related music. Lyrically, the track explores the Banda Aceh authorities’ 2012 arrest of Punk Rock concertgoers for 'moral rehabilitation'. 'Natty Hawks' is a reaction to situation and a cry of solidarity for punks worldwide over an incendiary, experimental soundclash between From The Cradle To The Rave's Riotstep - a dark, abrasive drum n bass variant - and Sonic Boom Six's trademark rap, ska, rock mash-up.

Throw in road-tested anthems like ‘Virus’, and ‘No Man No Right’ and we have a record that celebrates the band’s remarkable journey while continuing their artistic evolution.

The Emperor is the latest collaboration between Sonic Boom Six and Capitol 1212 Productions. Sonically, the aim was to provide a crossover between the electro-rock soundclash of the 2012 self-titled record and the bouncy ska, reggae and hip-hop of the forthcoming album, effectively bridging the gap between two generations of Boom. 

Lyrically, the song deals with certain developments in the political landscape of the UK over the last few years, that have continued to fester and grow to a point that they can no longer be ignored. How very apt that at the time of this being written, the titular Emperor is being afforded a primetime national platform to peddle his convenient, and dangerous, answers to the nation's problems.

The Emperor comes from the Operation Boombox Mixtape, an EP of original tracks, remixes and a cover version to whet your appetite for Operation Boombox. There's this brand new collaboration with Capitol 1212, remixes of tracks from the forthcoming album from The Future Dub Project and Dan P Skindred, one tune that didn’t make it onto the record and, finally, a proper recording of much requested acoustic cover of ‘Perfect’.

In the true spirit of Christmas, Sonic Boom Six release their new original track 'It's Always Christmas When I Think of You' as a free download for mailing list members on Christmas Day 2013. The song is a thank you to the loyal fans, affectionately known as The Legion of Boom, that have stood by them over the years and an attempt by the band to capture the spirit of the 80s pop music they love by bands such as Madness. 

SB6 extend a massive thank you to everyone who helped create the video, from Rob Tranter to James Kennedy to Katie Tavini. We can't forget Mary, Simon, baby Maggie and Katie Crush. And thanks to James's parents for letting us record till late and last but not least, Barney's mum and dad for letting the band go wild in their living room. We love you all!

In the D.I.Y spirit of punk rock, we’re currently recording an eight song mini-album of hardcore, skatepunk and ska bangers which will be released as Cardiac Address, our brand new mini-album. We’ve taken ourselves back to our teenage years and attempted to evoke the spirit of the bands that made us fall in love with punk rock, from Nirvana to The Offspring, Minor Threat to Rancid, Bad Brains to Suicidal Tendencies. And after the 2016 we all suffered, you best believe we’ve got cause to be angry and plenty of grist for the lyrical mill!

Our last PledgeMusic campaign was a long, drawn our affair, due to complications caused by us being on a label. This one will be self-released, self-recorded, self-produced, and D.I.Y, and the campaign will be like the music itself; swift and unforgiving! We are literally starting recording of the mini-album today! Vocals will be recorded shortly after. With artwork currently being finalised, we’re looking at a June 2017 release.*

SONIC BOOM SIX is an explosive and outspoken five-piece rock band from Manchester, UK described by Kerrang! as "taking ska, pop, grime, dubstep, punk and metal apart, then rebuilding them as a hyperactive hybrid". With a live show known for "clashing activism and good times", SB6 play firmly for the dance-floor while retaining enough power and aggression to be an active fixture of the UK's rock scene. The Boom’s influences include The Specials, The Streets, and Public Enemy and the band signed with Xtra Mile Recordings in early 2012, who released their self-titled titled album ‘Sonic Boom Six’ on October 17th 2012.

Having toured the UK, Europe, the US and Japan constantly for the last six years (while also managing to release three albums on their own label Rebel Alliance Recordings) the band took time out in 2011 to write the ‘Sonic Boom Six’ album and record it with Peter Miles (The King Blues, Futures, We Are The Ocean). The release of the infectious first single ‘For The Kids of The Multiculture’ gained SB6 a new audience and industry champions, being playlisted on national and regional radio and TV, gaining ‘Single Of The Week’ on Kerrang! Radio and being chosen as ‘Record of The Day’ on industry tastemaker site recordoftheday.com.

Sonic Boom Six has released 4 studio albums and two full-length compilations with countless singles, EPs and compilation appearances. SB6 has performed headline tours of Europe, America and Japan as well as slots at festivals including Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere and the main stage at Reading and Leeds Festival. Sonic Boom Six has written and performed songs that have appeared on BBC Radio 1, Channel 4, BBC 2 (TV), Rock Band and Sims 3 video games and much more.
