I vividly remember the days surrounding 9/11 — the shock, the silence, and a phone call from my cousin who was emotionally shattered, convinced the world was on the brink of World War III. That sense of fragile reality, of everything we took for granted suddenly feeling temporary, never fully left me.

Years later, while in college, that feeling evolved into a story idea: a man answers a ringing pay phone late at night, only to hear a frantic voice on the other end — someone claiming they’ve made an irreversible mistake, that a single button was pressed, and a nuclear launch toward Russia is already underway. The call ends. Nothing can be undone. All that remains is waiting.

That concept stayed with me — not as fear, but as awe: how the world would collectively hold its breath when faced with undeniable, inescapable truth.

This song imagines the ultimate version of that moment. The news breaks that the sun itself is dying — fading to black — and just moments later, humanity learns that a meteor storm of unprecedented scale is already on its way. No hero arrives. No clock can be rewound. There is only silence, gravity, and the weight of knowing.

Composed as a progressive metal instrumental in Drop A, this arrangement favors restraint over chaos, allowing tension to build slowly and themes to return with intention. Written during a period when physical limitations prevented traditional guitar performance, the piece was shaped through composition and orchestration alone — turning limitation into discipline, and fear into structure.
