The reason they're not remaking it is because it's a very well received title, and judging by their current state, they're not ready for it yet

This version sucks and is significantly worse to the amazing original imo.

The song doesn't sound that bad. It doesn't surpass the original nor the generations version but it's still a good remix. Fits well with the theme of the game, and imo this is the best part of the song
