It has been some time since I posted my last "Journeys with Zenon mix" I present to you Journey with Zenon Pt. 3. Here you will get a glimpse into some of my all-time favourite classic tracks combined with some of the newer releases from the label. 
I can remember playing so many of these tunes at various events around South Africa and have some cherished memories surrounding them. It has been and still, is an amazing journey showcasing what the Zenon sound is all about. Without darkness, there is no light.

Artist Overview
 Sonicdruid, aka Damian de Paul Albert, is a seasoned DJ and producer with over 23 years of experience blending deep, organic, and soulful electronic dance music. Renowned for his sophisticated sets, Sonicdruid specializes in deep organic dance-floor electronica, seamlessly integrating a diverse range of styles that reflect a lifelong pursuit of sound innovation and musical exploration.

Early Foundations
Sonicdruid’s passion for music was sparked at age 15, driven by visits to vinyl stores like Bizarre Extension, where he collected a vast array of records, fueling his curiosity. Early DJing came from house parties with friends, using borrowed turntables, and experimenting with mixes inspired by Acid House and Detroit Techno—genres that remain core influences.

Between 1996 and 2000, he performed at renowned Johannesburg venues including Mia Casa, THC, Morgans Cat, and Club Sublime. As a distinguished member of the Technics DJ Mix Club, Sonicdruid achieved second place in the 1998 DMC DJ competition, establishing himself as a formidable turntablist. By 1999, he became a resident DJ at Stonewater Superclub, sharing stages with iconic figures such as DJ Smila, Steve Strange, DJ Adrian, and Jason aka The Fool.

Production & Underground Scene
 In 2001, Sonicdruid co-founded Deep InTouch with childhood friend Nokken (Brian Alderson), delivering underground Techno and hosting genuine community events across Johannesburg until 2006. This period honed his production skills and refined his underground ethos.

The Psy Trance Phenomenon & Artistic Evolution
 In 2007, Sonicdruid’s musical vision expanded into Psychedelic Trance, aligning with Red Eye Productions—an influential label founded by DJ and producer Killer B. Over subsequent years, Sonicdruid shared stages with leading artists such as Krushed 'n Sorted, Vinni Da Vinci, Ian Pooley, G-Force, DJ Fresh, and Electrypnose, becoming a respected figure on local and international platforms, including Motswedi FM, YFM, UJFM, MixFM, and the SABC Randshow Stage

Collaborations & Creative Endeavours
 In 2011, Sonicdruid launched Stereo Fiction, a collaborative project with Killer B, fusing Techno, Psy Breaks, and experimental sounds to captivating effect. He was also the co-creator and key organiser of Wizards of Trance, an innovative event series dedicated to showcasing psychedelic, progressive, and experimental trance artists in South Africa. The series began in 2014 and continues to inspire audiences today. His 2013 appointment as the first South African DJ to join Zenon Records marked a significant milestone, expanding his influence to a global audience.
