Back In NYC Clip

Here's a first preview of Dave Kerzner's fourth studio solo album. It's called "Heart Land Mines Vol. 1" and features Kerzner on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards with Fernando Perdomo on guitar and bass, Matt Dorsey on guitar, bass, percussion and backing vocals, Derek Cintron, Nick D'Virgilio, Toss Panos and Alex Cromarty on drums, Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd) on backing vocals, Joe Deninzon (Kansas) on violin, Daniel Kerzner on horns plus special guests Lyle Workman, Gene Siegel and Mark McCrite on guitar with other special guests to be announced. 

The Dave Kerzner Band will be performing new songs from the album live for the first time at Progstock in Rutherford, New Jersey on October 5th and October 7th (more info visit http://www.progstock.com )

Kerzner's new album "Heart Land Mines Vol. 1" is a concept album based on a true story about driving across America in the 90s. It can be described best as "road trip music" with a particular emphasis on "singer/songwriter" style meets the traditional progressive rock roots Kerzner and his band are known for.

Heart Land Mines Album Teaser 1

This November Francis Dunnery (formerly of It Bites), Dave Kerzner (formerly of Sound of Contact), Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis - Calling All Stations) and other guest musicians are putting out a special tribute to Genesis in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the classic Progressive Rock album "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". The single "In The Cage" will be made available for download this month with a follow up of the entire album expected to be released in early 2015. This special tribute to the picturesque album is done in a "classic rock-meets-modern film score" style combining authentic vintage instruments from the 70s (including sounds recorded at Genesis' studio with engineer Nick Davis) along with a full orchestra. 

The album and bonus tracks feature Francis Dunnery on lead vocals and Dave Kerzner on keyboards (both have participated on Steve Hackett's acclaimed Genesis Revisited 2 album)along with a stellar cast of musicians including Nick D'Virgilio, Billy Sherwood (Yes), Steve Rothery (Marillion), Dan Hancock (Giraffe), Martin Levac (The Musical Box), Nad Sylvan (Steve Hackett) and more!

In The Cage - Sonic Elements Teaser

This is a cover of the Genesis song "Keep It Dark" by Phil Collins' son Simon Collins. Produced by Simon Collins & Dave Kerzner, Mixed by Kevin Churko, Vocals: Simon Collins Keyboards and Sonik Synth drum programming: Dave Kerzner, Guitars: Kelly Nordstrom, additional Bass and Synth: Andre Federow, Sound Design: Simon Collins & Dave Kerzner. It was recorded in 2006 in honor of Genesis' final reunion tour in 2007 and was played over the sound system before the final show of the tour in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl.

This is an edited audio clip from the song "The Big Bang" which I played on and co-wrote with Simon Collins and Kevin Churko for Simon's album "U-Catastrophe". The instrumental features both Simon Collins and his father Phil Collins dueling on drums with a lot of spacey atmospheric sounds I played from IK Multimedia software such as Sonik Synth 2 and SampleTron. Sonic Elements: Trifecta pt 1

This is a cover of the Led Zeppelin song 'Kashmir' which I played keys on with Kevin Gilbert. It was originally intended for the tribute album "Enconium" but got released as a single/EP instead.

This is something I edited together to play for Peter Gabriel. Here's the story. I auditioned for PG in 1993 and almost got the gig on keys. But the invite to audition was so fast I didn't have time to put something that showed playing ability together quickly enough. So in other words my demo wasn't the best! Anyway, after I played The Lamb with Kevin Gilbert and Giraffe I was considering audition for PG again and put this together to send. I never did send it. But I met with a producer/A&R person at Geffen that I know (Tony Berg - I met him years before on an Aimee Mann record that was done at his house with Jon Brion) and he ended up giving a CD copy of the whole show to Gabriel anyway. I didn't audition again though. His daughter has the gig now. Ironically I met his daughter, Melanie, on the WOMAD tour and had no idea she played keys or sang. Is this story too long? Okay just listen to the music then. Enough of my yacking. Just trying to give some back story here man!

This is an example of a rough mix we send back and forth to each other in different parts of the world for some international collab. The song is still being worked on but this is another advanced taste of what sort of direction it's going in with the various singers and particular cinematic production.
