The Local Selection returns for our weekly series, as Limerick native DJ and producer MELTX's is handed the controls for the next hour, with a blistering fast paced mix, sure to blow any lingering bank holiday hangovers away. 

Hailing from Limerick, and already having left her mark on Dublin and Paris, MELTX's is proving one to watch for the future. 2020 saw her make her mark by self-releasing a number of techno tracks and a series of podcasts for various collectives up and down the country, all showcasing her love and passion for heavy techno, while also joning up with the evergrowing Speed Management roster.

The budding artist produces high-end club tracks filled with brutal percussion and originality. Matching the energy of her own productions, MELTX provides a healthy collection of mixes with pumping selections and clean technique, with labels both at home and abroad keen to see more from the aspiring new artist.

After a short hiatus, the Select Mix Series is back. This time we have the talented DJ, producer, & writer Darkmavis joining our series.

DarkMaivis primarily produces and plays Hard Dance, Club and Experimental Electronic Music. He is the co-founder of the collective's Common Ground & Crane Club and is also a regular contributor with Four/Four Magazine. This mix begins with a recently released track from his and Sweet Philly's E.P, which progresses the mix slowly into a journey through trance which and then onto blends of hard techno, experimental sounds and gabber before a final uplifting trance send-off. 

This mix features tracks from Randomer, UNiiQU3, VTSS, RuiHo, AceMo & Swisha, Dj Genderfluid and Chippynonstop, Antpuke and many many more.

mono no aware (もののあわれ) is the first compilation to be released on PAN, collating unreleased ambient tracks from both new and existing PAN artists.

Featuring Jeff Witscher, Helm, TCF, Yves Tumor, M.E.S.H., Pan Daijing, HVAD, Kareem Lotfy, ADR, Mya Gomez, Sky H1, James K, Oli XL, Bill Kouligas, Flora Yin-Wong, Malibu, and AYYA, the compilation moves through more traditional notions of what is called ’ambient’, to incorporating wider variations that fall under the term.

“Mono no aware”, ‘the pathos of things’, also translates as “an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera”. A term for the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things. A meditation on mortality and life's transience, ephemerality heightens the appreciation of beauty and sensitivity to their passing. In investigating the passing of time, the boundaries between memory and hallucination become blurred; between fiction and reality. The movement of time transforms into an eternal present.

The album is mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, featuring photography by Molly Matalon and design by Bill Kouligas. A limited version of 100 copies will be released as a special art edition in collaboration with Mount Analog for the LA Art Book Fair 2017, before going on general release.
