The Brighton-based producer and creative mastermind, @Caldera-caldera, lets us delve into his multi-faceted personality with his new EP, 5D Worlds. No VR set needed, Caldera follows the chant of the sirens and the shamanic incantations but never directly references them: a psychoactive journey without the psychedelics. Caldera’s 5D Worlds is a hyperreal ride, from his signature dubby grooves to his lesser known Tech-Trance whopper fantasies – As the BPM evolves, the sound designs morph and the gentle percussion give way to sonar-like synths and binary rhythms. Caldera - Music From The Fourth Swamp (SL016)

We are happy to presents you "Last Transmissions From Jevvers," the latest vinyl release from @caldera-caldera. Recorded between 2018-2024 in the artist's Brighton studio, this collection serves as a farewell to both a creative space and community that profoundly shaped Caldera's artistic journey.

The album captures the organic essence of Caldera's studio environment and features a notable collaboration with @queniv, developed remotely during the 2021 lockdown. This release also coincides with the label's evolution from Dans le Desert to Dans Records, reflecting its continued commitment to innovative electronic music.

Since 2012, Caldera has established a distinctive voice in electronic music, blending techno and bass with meticulous sound design. His work appears on respected imprints including Nummer Music (Berlin), Kimochi Sound (Chicago), and Pressure Dome (Bristol), while his Loop LF project features regularly on London's Well Street Records.

Dans Records (fka Dans le Desert) is an independent label run by Tomasz K Zajac (Cafe de la Jungle), dedicated to supporting adventurous electronics.

Each copy of this 7" is hand stamped and comes with a unique-looking risoprint and a sticker.

Caldera‘s "Journey" reveals something unexpected through its driving beat, as tapping-shuffeling rhythms play around the uncompromisingly pressing bass drum, only to be interrupted by organic sample constructions. "Journey" is captivating through and through without foreseeing its destination... Dusty, dirty, house, urban jazz leads night owls towards the morning sun. Picking up this vibe, "Valuable" doesn‘t hide behind the opener: pitched-down vocal samples develop through foggy walls of delays. Fly through empty spaces, spread to leave nothing but an echo of spherical shapes. Underneath it all, an at-ease beat develops that captivates with its laid-back spirit. It drifts slowly, always a little behind, wonderfully timeless.
