'Earthdance events organized throughout the world bring people together in a single moment of focused intention.' Artists, dancers, creatives, crafters, healers, speakers, way-showers and party-goers came together to stomp the earth in the name of unity, peace and celebration. This years edition was nestled along the banks of the Vaal River, an immense blessing to have the spirit of water flowing. The theme for the Jhb event this year was 'Afrofuturism' which explores of the intersection between African diaspora culture with science and technology. 

For the healing and way-showing community, this represents a reemergence of deep reverence and understanding of ancestral wisdom and following the ways of our indigenous intuition, slowly bridging the gap between 'spirituality' and 'science'. This is supported by the curation of a 'healing space', a concept which is gaining momentum in the scene as a necessary collaborative effort to facilitate co-creating a positive future with integrity. Fittingly, a dear sistar organised and hosted the Spirit Floor, which showcased the likes of alternative healing modalities, movement practices, acoustic music, live performances and downtempo sonic journeys. I had the honour and pleasure of closing this floor. 

Ethnic and world music infused electronic beats encouraged the movement of energy through the heart portal, taking one deeper into the fields of love centered awareness, guiding us back home. For it is with embodied love on this planet, that the calm open brightness of a positive future is dreamt into creation. This soundscape was a journey from 102 through to 84 bpm, flowing through ecstatic bangers and emotion tuggers. The feeling of magic is palpable alongside the ceremonial nature of this sound. Give eternal gratitude for these artists for their sonic mastery. May one find upliftment in the experience. Enjoy the story.
