Broken Techno/Electronica label Theoretical Rhythms is back with another vinyl release. This time it is a 4-track compilation EP called "Confessions". Featuring a carefully curated selection of tracks from diverse artists, "Confessions" takes you on a journey through emotions, melodies, and introspective narratives. Each track serves as a musical confession, laying bare the artists' innermost thoughts and experiences. The compilation opens with Varna's own Virtually J who masterfully sets the tone for the entire collection with his composition. From there, listeners are guided through a sonic landscape that seamlessly blends genres, showcasing the rich tapestry of musical expression. London duo Getae are showcasing their talent with the dance floor filler "Stumble" and Getsu opens the door to another dimension with his story "Otklonenie". With its minimal composition, broken beats and various effects Getsu invites us to divert from our path and experience another world. The EP concludes with Nickel Eye's "Lodi", a story that starts on a darker side with repetitive rhythm to transform to a jazz epos.
"Confessions" is more than just a compilation; it's an exploration of vulnerability and authenticity. Each artist bares their soul through their music, creating a connection with the audience that goes beyond the surface. Mariano Mateljan is a Croatian DJ and producer who has long been a key figure in his country's underground electronic music scene. Growing up in Split during the 90s and early 2000s, his musical journey was shaped by the city's thriving club culture, which introduced him to a wide spectrum of sounds, from house to techno and drum’n’bass. Known for his deep, groovy, and minimalistic style, Mariano has established himself as both a DJ and label head, launching the u.dig imprint to showcase like-minded artists. His work has earned him widespread respect, with support from industry heavyweights like Ricardo Villalobos and Sonja Moonear, while his releases and remixes continue to push the boundaries of electronic music.

“Chocolate mines, waffles, and Trappist ale — that’s what we take pride in and our reason to live,” Needle's grandma used to say. She was born and raised in a southern province of Belgium. Two city kids obsessed with rhythm would come here to catch their breath after the chaos of urban life. The moment the train hissed in relief as it arrived, a guy and a girl jumped onto the platform, rolling their suitcases and making silly faces at each other.

— Now it’s just nature and no internet! We just need to drive the last leg.
— Yesss! We’ll admire castles and go on long walks. Maybe even find an old gramophone. Hee-hee!

People used to say that for Needle and Plate, it was enough just to be together. It didn’t really matter what they were into — the “Beat ’em up” showdown, long discussions, food, sleep, or hunting for hidden gems. That mutual glow made everything feel special.
