Crazy World

Sönke is a London based, musician, composer and producer with German roots.
He plays various instruments and works from his own studio in SE-London. With a background as keyboard player in Rock and Prog bands, he began to produce electronic music (of many different genres) in the mid 1990’s. When his music project FLUID got signed the music was being played in clubs around the world.

Sönke’s music covers many different genres and styles and is eclectic to say the least. You can find classical compositions for piano and guitar (he is a classically trained pianist), Rock songs, Pop-influenced music and mainly electronic music (as a keyboard player with a large selection of old- and new synthesisers, what else would you expect :-) ?).

In 1999 he formed his musical project CURFEW for which he has produced 4 albums and a huge number of EPs and Singles to date. The band toured in the London club-scene, the UK, Europe and the US in the early 2000s. Curfew is now mainly a studio project in which Sönke collaborates with a wide range of singers and musicians.

Due to the success of his record contract Sönke was asked to produce music for BLUE PETER on the BBC and he has composed the music for the BAFTA-award winning BBC program “The wrong trainers” in 2006. This in turn lead to many lucrative opportunities to compose music for other TV programs, advertisements and films. His latest soundtrack was for the feature film “All Roads Lead To Home” which will premiere in November 2023.

Since approx. 2021 Sönke teamed up with singer/composer/writer Anna Pearce (who is also responsible for the artwork and design of any Strange Addiction stuff). Their music is being released under the name STRANGE ADDICTION (see links) and the duo will be starting to play live gigs in Nov 2023, having previously played at the  “Be The Change” event in 2022.

Sönke is a senior lecturer and the program leader for BA Music Performance & Production at the University of East London and loves to travel!
