"Most who follow my music journey know of me as a downtempo producer aka slowwwww music.  But when I DJ here in Seattle, I typically play faster tempo dance music. In the last 2 years I haven't really dj'd much with Covid ravaging the club scene here in Seattle. So with this mix, I wanted to act like I was about to DJ a club here. I tried to work in some of my faster original music, with some other upbeat styles. I even tried a few mashups, cause hey, if this were a club, you know I'd try to flex some dj skills :)"  - @samahaofficial

Samaha is an electronic music producer, musician, and DJ currently based out of Seattle, Washington. With music having been a large part of his life from a very young age, he first began creating his own work during college, armed with a small midi keyboard and a laptop. Currently working within the electronic veins of down tempo, deep house, and ambient, he is not limited by genre, and allows personal experience and a passion for exploration to feed his craft. His goal is to travel the world and soak in all the beauty and wonder within. As a solo artist, he has grown exponentially within the past two years, honing his sound into something unique and separate from what often pervades the EDM genre. With plans to bring his work to larger audiences and to use his talents to bring dance music to new heights, be on the lookout for future Samaha releases.

Haana – eine gefühlsselige Person, die sowohl zu ihrer Sonnenschein- als auch manchmal sehr emotionalen Seite steht. In ihr sprudelt es vor Gefühlen, weshalb sie Musik schon immer sehr intensiv spürte. Beim Tanzen bedeutete das entweder komplette Ektase, wie stundenlanges springen und mitsingen, aber auch emotional mal so sehr getroffen sein, dass ihr die ein oder andere (Freuden-)träne über die Wange rollt. Das Fühlen&Spüren macht sich auch in der Musik bemerkbar, die sie zusammenmixt.

INTERVIEW:
1. Wie lange legst du nun schon auf und wie hast du es gelernt?
H: Das erste Mal Auflegen hat 2017 auf einem kleinen Festival in Brandenburg stattgefunden. Dann kamen das Studienende sowie ein Referendariat dazwischen und fesselten mich erstmal an das Berufsleben. Letztes Jahr gab mir die große Frida Darko den Tipp, mit einem Standalone-Controller zu üben. Nachdem ich im Februar 2022 dann mein Erspartes dafür investierte, habe ich mir feste Übungszeiten in meinen Alltag eingebaut - ab jetzt geht’s also erst so wirklich los. 2. Was wünscht du dir, sollte in der Clubszene .anders laufen?
H: Einiges könnte sich ändern und verbessern. Die Frage ist aus meiner Sicht höchst politisch und nur schwierig in wenigen Sätzen zu beantworten. Ehe ich jetzt mit der Gleichberechtigung und der Ausgewogenheit hinter den DJ-Pults anfange, so möchte ich stattdessen auf ein Problem eingehen, was alle Menschen sowohl hinter als auch vor dem Pult der Clubs betrifft: Die Toiletten. Ja, Leute nehmen [...] Hallo Clubbesitzende, bitte sorgt dafür, dass auch für FLINTAS Toiletten geschaffen werden, die..

3. Wie würdest du deinen Musik beschreiben?
H: Melodisch und gemütlich! Es gibt immer wieder Instrumente, die zu hören sind, teilweise ohne Rumms-schrumms-schrumms. Mir sind die Dur-Töne und Vocals wichtig, ich brauche sie, um zu träumen und fröhlich zu sein. Ein Abend an dem es ausschließlich dunklen Techno gibt, macht mich ganz unruhig. Daher bastle ich Sets bei dem ich vor allem träumen kann, um dann bei anderen Musiker:innen abzuzappeln. Da ich aber noch blutige Anfängerin bin, weiß ich noch nicht, wohin die musikalische Reise am Ende gehen wird. Neben Melodic Techno stehe ich nämlich auch noch sehr auf..

4. Was liegt dir neben dem Auflegen noch sehr am Herzen?
H: Auch hier muss ich mich kurzfassen. Ich begrenze mich auf zwei Themen: Punkt Eins - Aufklärungsarbeit zum Krankheitsbild der Endometriose und Adenomyose – so viele Menschen mit Gebärmutter leiden darunter, trotzdem gibt es kaum Forschung, die daran was ändert. Mund auf, Hormonpille rein, Schmerz (im besten Fall) unterdrücken et voila, Problem gelöst. Nebenwirkungen? Ganz egal! Das muss sich ändern! Dafür muss aber endlich mal eine Generation kommen, die sich auch im medizinischen Bereich mit jeglichen Geschlechtern und deren Krankheiten auseinandersetzt. Tja und was muss dazu passieren? Punkt Zwei – Revolutioniert das veraltete Bildungssystem!..

5. Wenn du ein Wort wärst, welches wäre das?
H: Meine Freund:innen sagen: gefühlsselig&lebensfroh 

6. Musik machen bedeutet für dich...?
H: mein Gegrübel abstellen zu können, kein Stress zu fühlen, kein lautes Schulhof-Kindergequarke hören zu müssen, keine Gedanken über die Gesundheit machen zu müssen. Ich schalte einfach ab beim Musik machen, ein solches Freiheitsgefühl kenne ich sonst nur vom..

7. Hast du bestimmte Pläne&Ziele, von denen du uns erzählen möchtest?
H: Einer meiner musikalischen Träume wäre es tatsächlich mal selbst zu produzieren. Auf welche Art&Weise, ob mit Instrumenten und/ oder Vocals und mit wem steht dabei noch in den Sternen. Ich bin mir aber sicher, irgendwann kommt der Tag. Außerdem hänge ich ab und zu immer noch in Neuseeland mit meinen Gedanken fest, ich würde so gerne nochmal dort für Jahre leben. Plan ist es auch, dass...
