Bass line is a bit high in volume for my headphones or any DAC procession - could maybe knock that down a few notches on the mix and still sound good. The tune tho is quite good. So still listening.

BIOGRAPHY: Mila Stern

Mila Stern’s far over a decade-long career as a DJ and producer has taken her from
squat parties in Halle (eastern Germany), where she first learned her craft, through the
pulsing motley of Tel Aviv, to her adopted home of Berlin and the epicenter of
electronic club culture. Her calm, commanding skill as a selector rapidly made her a
sought-after artist, with regular appearances at premier festivals like Fusion, Nation
of Gondwana, and Garbicz, and residencies at Berlin’s legendary Kater Club and
Station Endlos in Halle. Since then, she’s transcended the boundaries of the Berlin
underground, bringing her signature style to the international circuit from Mexico to
Kazakhstan.

Mila delivers a groove-heavy aesthetic that has recently shifted toward deeper, more
focused energies drawing on restrained propulsion, textured sound design, and
subtly evolving rhythms. Her selections now balance minimalism and intensity,
rooted in the hypnotic but never stuck in genre constraints. What sets her apart is a
willingness to embrace unorthodox sonic spaces, explore the beauty in harshness and
dissonance, and embed arresting moments in robust, rolling substructures.
From her early days, Mila’s sound has been shaped by a sense of counterculture and
the urge to break normative boundaries. Her DJ sets especially long-form closings encapsulate a vision of rave culture as expressive, eclectic, and non-judgmental.
She continues to draw on risqué, narrative-driven tracks and boldly carves out new
territory without compromise even as the context around her evolves.

As a DJ, producer, event organizer, former radio host, and label co-founder, she
pushes the envelope while rejecting genre dogma. In 2025, Mila co-founded the label
MiZi MuZiK with long-time friend and collaborator Mira a platform shaped by
their shared values of autonomy and artistic integrity. While the label and Mila’s
current musical direction follow distinct paths, both are rooted in a deep belief in
sound that speaks for itself.

Few artists balance deep floor energy with such artistic clarity. Mila Stern continues
to evolve her sound while remaining grounded in a rave ethos that challenges
paradigms and makes space for what lies ahead.

GetLostInMusic - Podcast #189 - Mila Stern

Recorded live at the 10th edition of Camp Summerdaze, this set is without a doubt my favorite of Summer 2025. This festival holds such a special place in my heart. There’s a unique magic, playing deep in an enchanting forest, surrounded by one of the most passionate crowds I know - it always brings out the best in me.

For me, DJing is pure energy exchange - a conversation between the artist and the dancefloor. That night, the stars aligned. I let go, played straight from the gut, and felt completely free to do so. The set features some of my new unreleased tracks along with a wide range of sounds that represent who I am as an artist.  Ninety minutes felt like ten - like time stood still yet raced by all at once. I challenged myself to weave together every shade of my sound in a short window, and it flowed effortlessly.

I’m deeply grateful to have had the honor of playing at the peak of the festival’s celebrations, and I want to thank Camp Summerdaze for believing in me and helping create such an unforgettable moment. Massive shoutout to everyone who filled that dancefloor - you left me overflowing with gratitude.

For episode #114 we have the pleasure of hosting a staple in Ottawa's underground music scene.

DASA is a local Ottawa DJ/producer who got started with music playing bass in progressive metal bands while growing up in the 90s. His influences draw from a wide range of sounds that filled his home growing up - including disco, rock & roll and heavy metal. 

DASA is a multi-genre artist that aims to seamlessly blend light/dark through warm, playful, and always sexy soundscapes with the goal of bringing people together, making them move and making them feel.

He is the co-founder of the House of Kink and SpaceCamp - two of Ottawa’s premier community dance events/raves, both of which aim to capture the essence of some of their favorite festivals, creating welcoming experiences where people feel free and safe to dance, express themselves and make genuine connections. 

He has graced the stage at several nightclubs across Canada and festivals including Summerdaze, Black Rabbit, Front Republic, and AIM.  🔉

In 2025, he successfully launched mārama, an Organic House/Downtempo label created with close friends and artists who share his vision of great music and a space for art and creativity.
