In what one could probably call "the lost remixes", we unearthed two unpublished cuts which fell to the roadside for any number of inane reasons that we have forgotten since. What we didn't forget, however, is how damn fine these reworks are. Take for example MICHAEL MAYER's take on KAITO's "Behind My Life", an obvious highlight on both Kaito's EP and full-length offerings last year, but as the rest of his work not really lending itself to radical remix treatments - the typical ambience of a Kaito track is too delicate, it seems, for the good ole "let's stick a fatter bass drum underneath it and be gone" routine. That's when you realize how masterful a remixer Michael Mayer actually is, turning the epic soundscapes of the original inside out and into a relentlessly grooving house stomper. The melodic break is where it's at on this one, giving them punters ample space to get truly lost in sound. The flipside holds its own set of surprises with SASCHIENNE's ingenious boogie reboot of MOHN's "Saturn" off their 2012 debut album. Originally a kind of kraut-infused synth jam with all the time in the world for the contemplation of infinite truths and the possibility of space travel, it has now become a tightly knit space cowboy opera full of special effects and exciting laser shootouts. Because you know what they say: a vocoder a day keeps the doctor away.

British producer Sonny Wharton has announced the release of his new single ‘Vice’, out on 2nd June via Steve Angello’s SIZE Records.

Sonny’s latest tech-house serving embodies a driving bassline and irresistibly catchy vocals, partnered with a bold percussive break down.

Sonny’s remarkable production style has gained the attention of tastemakers including BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Danny Howard, as well as legendary hitmaker Fatboy Slim. Not stopping there, Carl Cox championed the British producer’s hit single ‘Raindance’ as his ‘Ibiza Tune Of The Summer’ for his Review Show on Radio 1.

Elsewhere, Sonny has played sets across Europe, Asia and America. Closer to home, he has previously performed at Glastonbury, V Festival, Global Gathering and Isle of Wight Festival. This year, Sonny will be returning to the festival circuit this summer, where he will play alongside the likes of Chase & Status, Sigala and Headhunterz at Beats For Love Festival in the Czech Republic.

Sonny Wharton has revealed his hotly anticipated new single ‘All or Nothing’, out now via Steve Angello’s SIZE Records. The track, a follow up to his highly acclaimed SIZE release ‘Vice’, contains a deep rumbling bassline, with slowed vocal samples layered over the brooding chords of the production.

  Having established himself as one of the finest producers to emerge from the UK, Sonny kickstarted his music career by winning a mix-tape competition for Renaissance and DJ Mag, which catapulted the British DJ right into the heart of Ibiza’s nightlife, with high profile shows across the Island.

Over the course of his career so far, Sonny has gained strong support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Danny Howard, as well as Fatboy Slim, who named Sonny his ‘producer of the year’ in 2012. Not stopping there, Carl Cox handpicked Sonny’s single ‘Raindance’ as his ‘Ibiza Tune Of The Summer’ for Radio 1’s Review Show last year. 

Sonny’s skillful ability to captivate the audience with his energetic performances and diverse track selection has seen him take to the decks alongside dance heavyweights Armand Van Helden and Eric Prydz, performing at global venues such as London’s legendary Ministry of Sound and the iconic Glastonbury Festival.

Sonny’s skillful ability to captivate the audience with his energetic performance and diverse track selection is what prominently positions him behind the decks of many of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals. Whilst sharing the bill with everyone from Laurent Garnier and Steve Lawler, to Armand Van Helden and Eric Prydz, Sonny consistently delivers on a global scale playing everywhere from Pacha, Sao Paolo and the Berlin Love Parade in Germany to London’s legendary Ministry of Sound and the iconic Glastonbury Festival. Holding international residencies at both Club Octagon in Seoul and Solidaritet in Stockholm, Sonny’s DJ career has been solid from the start.
