'Infinity to 1' is the first release by the new Malta / Rotterdam based imprint Digital Empathy. The tracks range from the braindance side of electro and detroit techno to the haunted, lo-fi sound that Son of broke with in their debut release on Opal Tapes, back in 2015. ‘Infinity to 1’ follows up with an equally conceptually driven release - this time dealing with themes of artistic identity in a world that will inevitably be submerged in an endless amount of automated AI music. All tracks find ways to create a side-identity that accompanies each genre they touch upon, combining minimalist sensibilities with relentless sensations of entropy.

AI music is not just a new way of making music. 
It also comes hand in hand with the democratization and automation of AI.
“Democratization and automation of AI” + “AI Music” = Infinite music.
The implications of AI music are really about understanding what it means to live in a world of extreme abundance of music.
A world of infinite music.
What was rare to you and to your tastes, there will be an infinite amount of it.
Every artist’s musical identity, every album that will ever be released, will be instantly submerged by infinite quasi-replicas of it.
Music will be mostly an ephemeral accessory that anyone can create.
AI generated music playlists based on our preferences will be the principal source of music generation - the act of listening will therefore become equal to the act of creation. 
Future genres will be simulated prior to human discovery resulting in a Cambrian explosion of genres.
