Composed mostly during a stay in Australia with views of the beach, and finished in the studio back in Europe later, the track opens with sunset evoking e-piano chords that draw you in to a warm synth-pop / synth-wave track reminiscent of the eighties and the era of melodic synth lead solos.

Eighties Ocean

Originally composed and produced in 2010 and first titled 'Do Juno Linn'?, this 2020 remix, now titled 'Neon Drive', takes you on a night drive out from a neon lit city onto endless highways, where the few lights that are still there fade past with ever greater speed. That is, until you run out of petrol or charge! But luckily on soundcloud the recharge button is always there to repeat the thrill if you want to.

The track features lots of classic eighties sounds from the Roland Juno 60 synthesizer and Linn Drum machine. Compared to the original 2010 track I cut the intro short, changed some drum samples and synth sounds, added a bass layer and produced a new mix and master. Although I'm still a novice when it comes to mixing and mastering, this 2020 Neon Drive sounds a lot better than the original 2010 version. I might upload the original version some day, too.

Neon Drive

I share with you all one of my all time personal favorites. This track was recorded and sequenced live and in one take during a night in 2003. The timing of the lead melody, the break, the filter tweak was all decided live and spontaneously. For me it is my own ultimate night time, low light, lazy chair or before sleep in bed headphone music. It is not about surprising with constant changing sounds and themes, but a hypnotic experience that relaxes. This is the original recording from 2003, pure and unedited.

Only hardware sequencers and synthesizers were used, including a Doepfer A100 modular system and Maq 16/3 sequencer. Originally released in 2003 as ' Living on the top floor flat', under my previous artist name Tour Electronique.

Late night live

Jump straight into the action with the radio edit of my track Neon Drive! Based on feedback and requests on the original version of Neon Drive, I composed and produced this shorter radio edit. I cut the intro short, added a whole range of sound effect fills and tweaked several sounds with EQ, send effects and volume changes. The whole mix sparkles more and lets the synth lead sounds take center stage. I hope you enjoy it!

Neon Drive (Radio Edit)

A short piece of creepy (film)music inspired by sci-fi/horror movies and series such as Alien, V, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which often feature creepy creatures hatching from eggs, popping out of bellies, taking over humans and whatnot. Originally written and released on my previous website back in 2005. Made with only two tracks of Alesis Andromeda which I had back then.

It's Alive

It starts out as a romantic melody with a piano-like bell sound but later turns into something slightly different. The title reflects the mood change in the track.

The Twilight Zone

Born in the late seventies, some of the childhood and teenage influences that shaped me as a musician are Commodore 64, Synthesizer Greatest, tv-tunes such as Airwolf, Knight Rider, X-Files, all Sci-Fi shows and their music, my keyboard teacher, playing keyboards in prog/space rock band "1050 millibar", attending the concerts of Jean-Michel Jarre at the Atomium and the Eiffel Tower, clubbing in the nineties and the first and second synthesizer I learned to program and play (Juno 60 and Korg X5 respectively).

Musical influences are many, from Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Karl Bartos and Air ... to Robert Miles, Der Dritte Raum, U96, Todd Terje, Tosca, Kris Menace and Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise albums, early Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten ... to Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, A-Ha, Enigma, Junior Boys, Royksopp, FM Attack, LCD Soundsystem, Bastian and Spinvis ... to Electric Light Orchestra, Ozric Tentacles and Genesis ... to George Michael, Prince, Empire of the Sun, Taylor Swift and Herberg de Troost ... to Nils Frahm, Hans Zimmer and string compositions of Samuel Barber and Mahler, and a lot more.
