The Son Of Sound full length is Henry Maldonado's debut album featuring the vinyl released tracks Phreak With U and Er'body Gonna Love You Anyway.  More than just another Deep House album, Son Of Sound explores the urban synergy and New York style grit that founded its underground dance music culture, and influenced many.  The track-list features 5 skits and 10 tracks that flirt with raw underground House, Funk, Hip Hop and more. 

Sumthin' Else  is a 100BPM grinder that facetiously calls out his "quiet" New York. Much like Son Of Sound's  latest release on Local Talk,  the production on this comes across raw and honestly.  Even the skits feature candid conversations with friends while record digging in the city, exchanges with nightclub security while arriving at gigs, and other picture painting scenarios that any grinding DJ can relate to.

travels to South Africa with the soulful and funky 4 song Ep “AFRO-PATTERNS”.
Begun in the Motherland and fine-tuned in the city of Detroit.
The Ep shines with the lead single “Love’s Right Here” featuring songstress
Nasiphi of South African.  The song features mellow keys, soothing pads,
pulsating bass line, and vocals delivering chills to the listener.
The rest of the release continues to tell the story of the African connection of
Dance music between South Africa and Places like Chicago, New York, and Detroit.
Eggun, a song dedicated to the Ancestors, flows nicely with Alton
providing his signature sound, with melodic keys and bass lines blending together
effortlessly.  The two remaining songs Sun Rays , and We Can Do It assure serious
dance floor vibes that will transport the listeners and dancers into the streets of
South Africa where these songs were first crafted.

Throughout the ‘90s Henry has also released music under the aliases Urban Rhythm, Rhythm Section, Springboard, Deja Vu and Future Soul.

Flash forward to his current Son Of Sound releases and it’s easy to hear the production style of the past, fused with a forward-thinking inventive approach to making music for the modern-day dance floor. Son Of Sound draws heavily from Henry’s penchant for House, Hip Hop, Disco, Jazz, Rock, Latin, Soul, Techno and just about anything distinctively urban and New York.

The self-titled debut album “Son Of Sound” was released in 2015 on his District 30 label and was well received by DJs all over the globe. Since the release of the full length, Son Of Sound EPs have appeared on contemporary House imprints Sistrum, Delusions Of Grandeur, Underground Quality and Local Talk.

Today Henry Maldonado DJs and produces exclusively under Son Of Sound and continues to play nights throughout the world and at home in New York.
