Juhuuu es gibt mal wieder ne zharte Rakäthe! Aber was war das für ne knappe Nummer?! Rakäthe liegt mit Covid im Hangar – es ist unklar, ob sie’s überhaupt rechtzeitig wieder rausschafft, während @zhart sich seine Masterarbeit drei Tage vor Abgabe um die Ohren haut. Zum Glück hat’s der Flow mal wieder geregelt und beide stehen genesen und gemastert Samstag Nacht im Kater auf der Matte. Da gab’s diesmal also mal wieder mehr als nur einen Grund zu Feiern.. Und eine ziemliche Abfahrt – der Kuckuck hat gebebt! Was für ein Vibe! Wir sind so unfassbar dankbar, solche Abenteuer – umgeben von den tollsten Menschen erleben und mitgestalten zu dürfen. Riesiges Dankeschön an alle, die neuneinhalb Stunden lang diese Stimmung und Energie auf den Floor gezaubert haben. Den Übergang zwischen unseren beiden Sets gibt’s jetzt für alle, die nochmal mit der zharten Rakäthe durch den Kater fliegen wollen.  LIEBE 🚀♥️

Happy Birthday Mira!! 😻

Here comes my set from Mira's 48 Katzen Tanzen auf'm Tisch. A huge thank you to Mira for being who she is, for inspiring my always and of course for inviting me to play mighty Säälchen on Sunday night. I could have not imagined a better moment to play the set I have poured all my soul, heart and creativity into. I feel so honoured to play among some of the greatest artists out there! 

Another huge thank you and my deepest respect goes out to all the incredible producers who are dedicating their time and energy into making these gems that I have selected for this set. 

A big thank you goes also to everyone being there and experiencing the magic that happened during these 3 hours full and bathing me after in all your love and joy ☺️ Since the recording unfortunately did not work out, I dared a re-record and beamed myself back into Säälchen and went through my memories one more time.

Die Open Air Zeit ist unsere liebste Zeit. Wie schön, dass wir den Start in die Outdoor Saison wieder an einem unserer Frankfurter Lieblingsorte begehen durften. Die Nacht war voller Freude, magischer Momente. Sie war echt verdammt kalt und der Sonnenaufgang so spektakulär. Wir hätten mit Euch am liebsten nicht in den Mai, sondern durch den Mai durchgetanzt. Danke, für die Einladung, bei Euch zu spielen, es hat wie immer großen Spaß gemacht. Danke an alle anderen DJs, die den Abend begleitet haben. Danke an alle Freunde und Bekannten, die da waren. Es war ein absolutes Fest.

Today we’re featuring the known Berlin downtempo artist Rakäthe, who’s been on our watch list for quite some time. We’re just huge fans of her groovy downtempo “Ketapop” style. We’re all the more thrilled that she’s treating us to a special Set recorded during this year’s CoZy Festival—a fascinating journey through the world of deep and hypnotic downtempo. She skillfully maintains the balance between tension and relaxation throughout. Slow tempos and deep soundscapes blend seamlessly here. In a word: Fascinating.

✘What is your musical background?
R:// I listen to a lot of music by other artists and let my emotions guide me. In the past, I used to play the clarinet, and at some point I discovered electronic music, which had a completely new effect on me—something I hadn’t experienced before. Downtempo, in particular, really resonates with me because I’ve often felt in my life that I’m ticking to a different rhythm than the world around me.

✘ What makes good "afterhour"?
R:// Friendly people and everyone who’s already had some wonderful experiences the night before or in the days leading up to this—and who, because of that, can best enjoy the moment without expectations, taking plenty of time to savor good music (preferably slow) and the moment itself. I sometimes feel that vibe is like a simmered soup that’s had plenty of time to develop its flavor :)

✘ Any thoughts you'd like to share about your set?
R:// Get comfortable, whether you're alone or in good company, and just relax. Or groove along to the music—either way, make sure you have a good time.

✘ For gig recordings: How did you feel about the gig?
R:// It was a huge honor for me to play the after-hours set on Monday afternoon at CoSy—especially in front of the two after-hours icons, Ninze and Niju. Unfortunately, I was dealing with PMS3000 that day, which is why my day got off to a bit of a rocky start. But when I finally got to play my favorite music at 2 p.m. in warm summer weather for people who were really into downtempo, my day completely turned around. It was truly a special set for me because I dedicated a moment to the recently deceased musical genius Nico Stojan—a moment that moved me so deeply that I actually had to cry while DJing… But I felt so at ease with the crowd that it wasn’t even awkward; it was just such an incredibly moving and special moment. I want to thank all the sweethearts in the crowd for your commitment to taking a little ride with Rakäthe and really feeling it. The fact that you open yourselves up and let yourselves go means so much to me <3 Thank you for this wonderfully groovy, fun, and moving after-hour! 🚀

Auch ich habe mich dieses Jahr vom Moyn verabschieden müssen. 

Leicht fällt mir das nicht, denn dieses Festival bedeutet mir viel und ich verstehe mich seit 2019 als Teil des Ganzen.
Aus diesem ersten Jahr stammt auch das Bild: Es zeigt das Richtfest unseres allerersten Baus auf dem Moyn – der Schnuppe. Gemeinsam mit Clemens und Johanna haben wir sie damals auf die Beine gestellt, und wir waren verdammt stolz darauf. Das war der Startschuss für viele weitere Projekte, bis hin zur Bauleitung und Booking des Dorfes in den Jahren 2022 und 2023 und Unterstützung bei den Konstruktionsplänen, zum Beispiel für die Hilde 2022.

Es war nicht immer leicht, denn wir sind nun mal Dickköpfe. Uns wurden Steine in den Weg gelegt, wir haben uns widersetzt und uns so manches Mal selbst den Stock in die Speichen gesteckt. Aber es war eine großartige Zeit. 

Ich blicke mit einer gewissen Melancholie, aber vor allem mit großer Dankbarkeit zurück: auf alle, die ich durch das Moyn kennengelernt habe, mit denen ich zusammen werkeln und auflegen konnte, die unsere Ideen unterstützt haben und durch die ich gewachsen bin ... und natürlich auf jeden gemeinsamen Rave!

Das Moyn ist ein Prozess ...

Closing Creatures Corner on the first night was my biggest gig so far, and also a very special one—Mystic Creatures has given me so much since I discovered their events six years ago.

I was looking forward to it for months until I started preparing my set. I couldn’t connect to the music, nor could I get into a creative flow. I was feeling completely exhausted after spending most of the summer (over)working indoors. I arrived at the festival believing that my tracklist would be just “good enough.”

What happened on the dance floor exceeded all my expectations. I never thought that so many people would stay until the end, nor that my set would be received so well.

The Tarantella is a dance and music of healing and renewal. I always aim to create an experience that takes dancers on a journey through different intensities and emotions. Feeling and seeing so many of you go through all those emotions with me was beyond beautiful.

Thank you for dancing, jumping, singing, smiling, and crying with me. I’ve rarely felt so connected to a crowd.

I also want to thank the crew involved in this Festival for their hard work - even more in those difficult weather conditions. Thank you for your trust in letting me play this stage. 

And of course, my biggest thanks to all the producers out there - your music is a gift.
