A track that didn't really turn out anything like I had planned, but I like it anyhow and I hope you all do as well!

The percussive sounds were recorded with a very 'roomy' atmosphere and were created by using random objects as percussive instruments. For example, tapping bottles, rustling keys... even just hitting the table.The goal was to create a simple, almost juvenile feeling. 
This track is a short, humble and innocent piece containing no distortion or aggression. It is simply melodic creation.

Introvert - acoustic

Like the majority of my tracks, this one was created around the element of a simple riff. I find a lot of my best ideas come from improvising over a looped riff. I use it as a frame to begin the improvisation process to record and and arrange a collection of sounds which create 'the track' when played in unison.



Vice - rock

♥ Before listening, consider that this track was originally ONLY a jam track and nothing more. I was not trying to achieve clarity or perfection with this project. That's not what creating music is to me. ♥
Myself and Jay recorded tracks we were planning to perform on open mic nights to listen back to see if we actually sounded any good. I decided to utilize the track and build on it. I left the original track I was building over 'au naturel'. 
The demo track contains both the vocals and the guitar. The track itself was recorded in a large room that wasn't designed to be recorded in. This obviously affected the quality and clarity of the sound leaving it muddy and echoy in places. The track was never recorded with the intention of  being used in this way, therefore the levels might not be spot on, but again that was never the purpose. The purpose  of this mixed track was to collaborate the raw sound of the performance with the processed orchestra and percussion.

Omega Centauri

This is actually nothing to do with the current project i'm working on however after transferring my project files to a new ssd, I found a few gems.
This one is based on an old idea that I had previously been stuck with.

Chameleon

So I got bored of not recording any vocals and this happened.
All instruments are performed by myself including the strings which consist of violins and bowed guitar.

Take It Slow

Whilst on a random chugging spree along side a drum beat I came up with this riff, and felt that it was neither happy or sad, but just rocky. Developing a drum line to fit the guitar was pretty fun and after adding a few other little riffy bits and sections came up with this. However I no longer have the project for this track, so this current version is the only version I have, which is a shame. this is also the case with a few other tracks on this album due to carelessness... I'm such a knob. lol!

A progression on an earlier piece.

This track uses a live recording captured whilst sitting around a camp fire in Australia with friends and my guitar.
Whilst travelling I would simply improvise on my guitar and record myself, then later listen back over and over to pick out riffs and licks I could use.
If you listen to the repeated guitar picking you can hear the voices of my friends talking around the camp fire. 

When writing music i'm often not writing to create a 'song' or 'track', but an atmosphere. A collection of sounds that when combined can take the listener to a different place.
I also believe that music doesn't have to be created with a musical instrument. By using all aspects of sound, one can create a piece unlike any other due to the fact there are no restrictions. 
Limitless potential.

This is why I have left the voices in this particular track.

however I am feeling at the time, or whatever I have inspiration to write, I write.
