Sonz Of Jack - Live in San Francisco

House music has a wide range of characteristics that’s hard to pin down definitively. Early U.S. house and techno productions have been instrumental in the development of dance music, regardless of geography or sub-genres. Influenced by early house and techno from Chicago and Detroit, J-Cut & Jake P. share a passion for art, music and technology.

After discovering dance music through breakdancing in the early 90’s, J-Cut started contributing to the Los Angeles scene as a music buyer for hip hop record store Street Sounds and Groove Riders in 1993. Not content with just playing music J-Cut started producing in the late 90’s and has releases on Jungle Boogie Records, Dust Traxx and Saturday Night Sessions.

Jake P. got his start working behind the scenes on a number of underground and commercial dance music events in the late 90’s. A prodigious supporter of proper techno music, early experiments in production resulted in releases on Deafmosaic and Techno City Records. Interest in production naturally inspired an interest in DJing and exploring how 2 records (or more) can sound so good together.

Jake and Jimmy began brainstorming ideas about a new group that’s not only interested in the hottest new sounds but also to share inspirations and history with the audience. With that, Sonz of Jack was born.

After successful early performances and support from friends, Sonz of Jack secured a residency for Saturday Night Sessions @ Ecco Hollywood and has performed at many of Hollywood’s top clubs such as Avalon, Vanguard and The Standard Hotel. With a dance floor friendly sound that combines the best of house, techno and progressive house, Sonz of Jack has taken their performance to the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and the LovEvolution festival in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Together As One NYE with Duck Sauce & The Bloody Beetroots.
