During Quarantine I made a few mashups that were especially happy and uplifting, which served as a great catharsis for the isolated circumstances. NEW SONG! Here is the third and final song of my Mashup Series. This one was created in collaboration with my friend Vesica from Germany. We spent many hours perfecting this one, and were thrilled with the outcome. The result was a feel good soup of sounds. Even more sample surprises in this one!! Wutang, Shoop, and Fantastic Mr Fox? I am thrilled to announce the release of my single “Hello Hello Hello” via Muti Music Records. I created this song during the height of lockdown, while in isolation from the rest society. This song combines elements of urban folk culture and nursery rhyme, to provide the listener with a light-hearted and dreamlike experience that feels simultaneously modern and nostalgic. For this project I utilized resources from the Library of Congress to access samples that fall into the public domain, which allows creators to use the samples without restriction. In particular, I honed in on the Tony Schwartz Collection. Tony Schwartz was an American sound archivist whose life-long interest in people and sound led him to record soundscapes in his New York City neighborhood. This song, although different from many of my other releases, has a very special place in my heart, and captures an uplifting vibe that feels much needed in these times. It reminds us of life’s simple pleasures and helps bring us back to center amidst the intense, but beautifully organized chaos that is life. Please take a moment to listen and purchase this tune. I can’t express how grateful I am for your continued support over the years.

Fresh off a year of extensive coast-to-coast touring, SOOHAN returns with COLLECTIVE EFFERVESCENCE, a new album of found and remixed material that showcases his most receptive tracks from the year prior. Collective Effervescence is named for the sociological concept coined by Èmile Durkheim, which generally states that when people come together as communities, they retain the ability to act as one.

Such is the truth of how your bodies all over North America responded to this visceral selection of Soohan's newest remixes and edits, often meant directly for festival crowds. Worldly rhythms abound as Soohan introduces you to the likes of Adèle & Zalem, A-WA, Sukhwinder Singh & Vijay Prakash, and Ana Tijoux through 808-tinged lenses. Interspersed are moments of re-interpreted pop genius. A supercut of Missy Elliot's hardest lines runs atop a selection of Timbaland's best cuts, while elsewhere, Weezer meets Passion Pit and bass-heavy beat patterns straight from the Bay area.
