Now is a good of a time as any to share with you my latest project: VAGUE AND FAMILIAR. It's not something I talk about super often, but one of the greatest joys in my life is my music collection. I consider myself a DJ and a Producer, but probably a Collector above all. I cant even imagine how many hours, or even years I have spent digging deep into the internet to drop into other times and cultures. I am super interested in music from other countries, and this fascination fuels much of my creativity. The other part of my brain is highly interested in nostalgia. So if I have heard a song that I remember from childhood, it fascinates me. Thus I came up with the concept of "Vague and Familiar". Music takes me both into to new worlds, while simultaneously helping me dive back in time into my own world. This time around I found myself honing in on Algeria, Egypt, Italy, France, Germany, The US, England, Oman, China and India. One remix features Will Thoren on the didgeridoo. I hope you find this combination of frequencies intriguing, and I hope it provides a moment of joy during this confusing time in reality.
