At this time of year, it can be easy to get caught up in the fun and excitement of Christmas and all the things it brings with it, but its important to remember that Christmas isn’t always a joyful time for everyone. Many children in the UK and around the world are living in severe poverty, some having lost their families to crises and many without a place they can feel safe. Seeing this need, some of our brilliant friends have set up the charity Operation Orphan, which aims to keep children warm, safe, learning and healthy. They truly do a wonderful job. So, if you like this little number even a little bit (we know it’s a little rough around the edges), we’d love for you to head to their page to donate even a pound or two. I wrote this prior to quarantine/lockdown measures owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. I guess I was already anticipating what it would be like.

I re-wrote the lyrics to Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen (again!). It's partly about Easter and how I think it shows how much God cares for us. But it's also a prayer, an insight into my feelings as I struggle just like everyone else, to read the news, hear of friends who are sick or grieving, and ask God what is happening to our world:
