This weeks podcast will be provided by the German artist Invexis. Georg Köhler, Invexis’ real name, made name for himself back in the early 00’s. Inspired by artists such as Jeff Mills and The Prodigy, Invexis formed a sound of his own and created timeless pieces, with hardware only, that were released on labels such as Planet Rhythm and Kazumi (where he released his iconic ‘Elektronenwind’ track, which has been reissued on SHDW & Obscure Shape’s ‘Mutual Rhythm’ earlier this year). 

Invexis created a one-hour mix for FrenzyPodcast no. 133, in which he takes you on a journey through time with his well known old school sound. Listen to the sound of Invexis here, enjoy!

DJ since the early 2000s, Chill made his debut mixing hip-hop for more than 10 years both on the radio and in club. 2011 marks a musical turning point for Chill, who opened his mind to electronic music after discovering this music through the big clubs in Europe. It was a real revelation for him and it’s in 2014 that begins his adventure within this movement. He’s the co-founder of the collective Closely who launched undergrounds parties in Strasbourg during 4 years. This allowed him to gain experience by regularly sharing the booth with the big names of the electronic scene. In 2018, he becomes resident at KALT. Comfortable with house and techno, he likes now to move the dancefloor with a nice selection of deep and powerful techno.

Electronic dance music and beyond
Nuno Costa began his ventures into electronic music in 2008 with his Sinner moniker, and with it he created Warface, a local crew and promoter focused on dubstep, drum ’n’ bass, and UK garage.

In 2013 he kickstarted his new project, VIL, focusing mainly on techno, electro, breaks, and house music. His debut EP came in early 2015, when Portuguese label Extended Records picked him up for a release. Soon after, he released on Lewis Fautzi’s “Faut Section” imprint and on the legendary Synewave New York, run by Damon Wild.

VIL’s refined taste and set building ability has already earned him a place at some of the best clubs in the country, of which Lux Frágil and Gare are included, and is a regular presence at many of the country’s festivals as well. Fast forward to 2018, where alongside Portuguese artists Temudo and menosdois, he creates Hayes, a collective focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Already counting four vinyl releases since its inception and garnering support by some of the biggest name in the scene, Hayes turns out to be one the most promising labels to rise during the pandemic.

Furthermore VIL used the extended time in the studio between 2020 and 2021 to place his output on renowned labels outside of his own realm. Landing highly anticipated EPs both on Ben Klock’s seminal label Klockworks and Stranger’s Self Reflektion further bolsters his studio proficiency.

FR - DJ depuis le début des années 2000, Chill mixe du hip-hop pendant plus de 10 ans à la radio et en club. 

L'année 2011 marque un tournant musical pour Chill. Il s'ouvre à la musique électronique après sa découverte à travers les grands clubs d'Europe. C'est une véritable révélation pour lui et c'est en 2014 que commence son aventure au sein de ce mouvement. 

Il est le cofondateur du collectif Closely qui a lancé des soirées undergrounds à Strasbourg pendant 4 ans. Cela lui a permis d'acquérir de l'expérience en partageant régulièrement le booth avec les grands noms de la scène électronique. 

En 2018, il devient résident au KALT. 

À l'aise avec la house et la techno, il aime désormais faire bouger le dancefloor avec une belle sélection de Techno deep et puissante.

SOPTIK is a established electronic music and art label from the Frankfurt / Main area. The focus of the ambitious and striving label is the connection between different artists and their craftsmanship and to unite and present them as an overall project.

The special feature of SOPTIK is that not only the music is in the foreground, but also the pictorial art and thus with each project a completely new story arises. It develops from the impulse of an idea into something completely new and original, which will not only be heard but also seen..

We want to connect art by using two tools to let become visible what you often don't see.
