To celebrate the arrival of spring, we gathered to breathe, sing, and dance as a prelude to the first NZ Spirit Festival in the South Island. The evening began with Yasmeen Clark and Jonathan Spark gently guiding us into the sacred and divine, followed by Anada’s Kirtan Wave. This led into a 75-minute ecstatic dance journey, bringing together new and old friends to connect through movement and music.

Inspired by the transition from winter to spring, this set reflects the vibrant energy of renewal and growth. In traditional Chinese medicine, spring is associated with the wood element, symbolizing strength, persistence, and creative potential. Each track is carefully curated to embody this transformative energy, blending tribal beats, global sounds, and uplifting rhythms.

About the set:
This set was created to express my gratitude to the ecstatic dance community—the people who introduced me to free-form dance, and the musicians and artists whose wonders touch my heart and move my body. Over the past few years, ecstatic dance (and other free-form dances) has profoundly transformed my life on many levels.

The energy of this set is high and playful, reflecting the joy and connection I felt during the session. Seeing smiles on the dancers' faces and their wordless interactions with each other brought me so much happiness. This is my celebration of those magical, human connections.
