"Bela Lugosi's Dead" is a gothic rock song written by the band Bauhaus. The song was the band's first single, released in August 1979, and is often considered to be the first gothic rock record to be released.[1][2] It did not enter the UK charts. The B-side featured the song "Boys" and some versions also include a portion of an early demo recording of what would be their next single, "Dark Entries". It was released on CD in 1988[3] and was compiled on the 1998 album, Crackle - The Best of Bauhaus. The original sleeve art was taken from a still of the film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.[2] The authors listed on the single are David Haskins, Kevin Haskins, Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash.[4]

Disco re-edit master Moplen has been busy touching up this Jackie Moore gem with sprinkles of his studio magic. The original vocal remains in tact as the trumpets and funky drum breaks power forwards the groove below. A vocal mix makes more of the sublime soul tones and then come two further versions on the flip. The Breakdown remix is one of big breaks but nothing detracts from the lung busting performance of Moore. Last of all is a Chin-mental mix so you really have plenty to chose from.

Fiind o recompunere dinamizantă a 'exilului neterminat' – “(inachevé) l’exil”, compus in 2007 – octetul "Exil secund" face parte dintr-o grupă de compoziţii generate de un emblematic poem al franco-algerienei Annie Cohen-Solal, împreună cu “…que des âmes” (1991, pentru şase voci feminine) și “…que des mots” (1992, pentru soprano și trio de coarde), lucrări în care am abordat textul poetic în manieră cântat-declamată. În cele 'două exiluri' însă, aceleaşi versuri sunt ‘conţinute’ în secvenţe muzicale pur-instrumentale corespunzând grupării originare a versetelor (de unde și o formă aparte a piesei), acestea fiind delimitate prin punctuaţii abrupte urmate de ‘tăceri reflexive’.

As a dynamic re-composition of the 'unfinished exile' – “(inachevé) l’exil”, composed in 2007 – the 'Exil secund' (Second Exile) is part of a group of compositions generated by an iconic poem of Franco-Algerian Annie Cohen-Solal, together with “…que des âmes” (1991, for six female voices) and “…que des mots” (1992, for soprano and trio of strings), works in which I approached the poetic text in a singing-declamation manner. In the two "exiles", however, the same verses are ‘contained’ in pure-instrumental sequences corresponding to the original grouping of verses (where from a particular form of the piece), delimited by sharp punctures followed by ‘reflective silent’.

Roger Tessier, compositeur à l’immense talent et ami de longue date, m’a sollicité pour écrire une courte pièce à l’occasion d’une journée qui lui était consacrée. Ainsi est né Wei Tsi, pour clarinette, percussion et piano. « Wei Tsi » est le soixante quatrième signe du I Ching, dernier du livre des transformations, et qui signifie « avant l’accomplissement ». Il est formé de deux trigrammes. K’an, « l’insondable, l’eau », en dessous et Li « ce qui s’attache, la flamme », au-dessus. A la lecture du poème de René Char, « Commune présence », j’ai été frappé par la proximité du propos avec l’interprétation du symbole chinois, cette convergence venant conforter ma propre démarche. Sorin Lerescu was born in Craiova, Romania, on 14 November 1953. He studied composition at the National University of Music in Bucharest with Tiberiu Olah and Anatol Vieru. Postgraduate studies with Ton de Leeuw, Brian Ferneyhough, Morton Feldman. 

In 1982 he founded the TRAIECT New Music Group (a recipient of The Romanian Musical Critics' Award in 1983). 

President of the Romanian Section of ISCM (2003-2013). Artistic Director and Co-Artistic Director of the INTERNATIONAL WEEK  OF NEW MUSIC in Bucharest (2004, 2009) and of the MERIDIAN, ISCM-Romanian Section International Festival in Bucharest (2005-2012). He founded (in 1997) and directs the MEETINGS OF NEW MUSIC Festival in Braila (Romania). Professor of counterpoint and composition at Spiru Haret University Bucharest (2002-2019).

In october 2001 Sorin Lerescu was invited in Italy as a composition professor at the Istituto Musicale “Achille Peri” in Reggio Emilia. In november 2003 he was a member of the International Composition Jury of the “Valentino Bucchi” Competition in Rome, as well as invited professor (master class in composition). Member of International Jury of the ISCM-CASH Young Composition Award 2006 - ISCM World New Music Days 2006 Stuttgart (Germany). In 2008 he was invited as a composition professor at the Faculty of Music – West University of Timisoara (Romania). President of the International Jury of composition in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) (in 2008), member of the International Jury of composition in Sofia (Bulgaria) (in 2010 and 2013) and in Curitiba (Brazil) (in 2011). Member of the jury of the “Stefan Niculescu” National Composition Competition – National University of Music Bucharest (2020, 2021).

The Prize of the Union of Romanian Composers and Musicologists for chamber music (2003), symphonic music (2017), multimedia works (2020); The Romanian Academy's 2003 "George Enescu" Award for Musical Creation, The Cultural Merit, Bucharest (2004).

His creation includes: 7 symphonies, 6 concertos, 2 cantatas, instrumental and vocal-instrumental music, electronic music, opera URMUZICA. Works by Sorin Lerescu were published by: EDITURA MUZICALĂ in Bucharest, CARCIOFOLI Verlagshaus in Zürich (Switzerland) and LUCIAN BADIAN EDITIONS in Ottawa (Canada).
