These songs are intimate messages and prayers that I have received in the deepest folds of my heart. They’ve guided my steps through the transformative years I have been walking on a spiritual path and a medicine path.

Ambakana Tero Tero é uma música tradicional - Txiriti da tribo Noke Koi, nossa melodia é diretamente baseada na original Txiriti. Trouxemos essa música da dieta na aldeia Toniya, assim como o Ovai Saiti, que usei na segunda parte da música, recebido da Pajé Kochti.

Ambakana Tero Tero is a traditional song  ( prayer ) - Txiriti of the Noke Koi  tribe.  Our melody is directly based on the original Txirite . We brought this song from our diet in Toniya village, as well as the Ovai Saiti which I used in the second part of the song recieved from Pajé Kochti…

La primer noche soñé que la Madre del Agua me llevaba a nadar en el mar, 
y de tanto que me hundió me ganó el miedo y tuve que despertar.

A la noche siguiente me volvió a tomar de los brazos llevándome profundo, hasta un lugar 
muy calmo y silencioso donde todo estaba en orden. 
"Este es mi vientre, y ahora que ya conoces la muerte te invito a entrar cuando quieras" me dijo, 
y a partir de ese día ya no tuve más miedo.

A la tercer noche fui yo quien la busqué para hacerle un pedido especial.
Desde chico había fantaseado con conocer una bestia marina algún día, de esas
que habitan en lo más profundo del océano, y ella accedió a mi pedido y me llevó.

Después de un buen tiempo de bajar a la parte más oscura y fría llegamos, y ahí estaba.
Este animal majestuoso que medía unas tres veces el tamaño de la ballena más grande me pidió que por favor no lo lastimara, y cuando entendió que no era mi intención fue que abrió sus ojos inmensos.
El brillo de su mirada fue tanto que alcanzó para iluminar el océano entero haciéndolo de día. 

No existen palabras para describir lo que vi en ese momento, y fue con esa claridad con la que desperté algunos días después.

Cuando abrí los ojos no podía respirar, estaba ahogado en mi propio aire. Por eso en un esfuerzo de voluntad muy grande tuve que ir corriendo hasta el estanque y soltar toda el agua.
Así fue como aprendí a respirar de nuevo.

Some people now of Universildo's existence - the more contemplative, introspective pseudonym of Pedro Canale aka. Chancha vía Circuito. Eight years after his first and only EP "Luces del Aire" (Hipi Duki Music, 2009) we received an email from Chancha with two unreleased tracks, produced in the limbo between Universildo and the Chancha. Suffice to say, we were blown away. Two tracks that show already the sonic vision of Pedro's music that has us under his spell: the meeting of organic minimalism with deep rhythms and ancestral roots.

This Woman's Work

Sweet Knievel is a jam band. This much is true. As guitarist and lead vocalist Jonathan Brill says, “One minute we’ll play a funky tune and then we could follow that with a bluegrass tune or with jazz, or rock, or whatever… We basically try to play every kind of music that we like, all while leaving ourselves room for some improvisation to take place.” Yep, sounds like a jam band. But they hope you won’t judge them for it.

Brill began playing guitar the same year he saw his first Grateful Dead show. It was not a coincidence. He was so moved by the experience that he decided to capture the songs by learning to play them himself. Somewhere along the line, he broadened his musical horizons. Playing casually in bands while attending the University of Vermont, he began to study guitar in a more formal setting, both at UVM and the Atlanta Institute of Music.

Upon returning to Georgia in 2001, Brill contacted old friend Jerry Hendelberg, who was in the early stages of forming what would become Dubconscious, a reggae band who within just a few years would tour over 40 states and play festivals such as Bonnaroo and High Sierra. As an escape from reggae, Hendelberg would put together bands with various musicians to play other types of music. For most of these shows, Brill played guitar. Over the years, the two developed a musical bond, and eventually decided to turn the side- project into it’s own band.

While continuing to play music from artists such as Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, the Flaming Lips, and Dave Brubeck, the band began to integrate Brill’s original music into their live sets. Some of their early songs had Sweet Knievel likened to Syd Barrett and the Beatles. As the band continued to add a variety of Brill’s original material, the songs touched on rock, funk, folk, straight-up bluegrass, and more.

“Going back to what I learned from Dead shows,” starts Brill. “One huge takeaway for me was that you can play an unlimited number of different genres over the course of a night.” A typical Sweet Knievel set reflects that philosophy. “I love so many types of music. I’ve always loved Motown and bluegrass music at the same time… I love reggae, jazz, indie rock, and even hip-hop. But don’t worry, I won’t be rapping anytime soon.”

"I listened to Naynaeo, in the river where I lived in the peruvian jungle in Iquitos for 2 years, as an offering to that eternal time, to the unity of all the worlds in one, being present. Andre Lehner later accompanied me during the recording in Austria by playing the shamanic drum, and so together with my sansula and my voice we recreated that memory of the future."

“Essência” is a magical journey through the (sound) landscapes of Peru, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Austria and Portugal. Sounds of pure nature recorded in different places of the earth. In those sanctuaries, from my inner silence, an empty space is created within me to receive and give birth. Being at service to the essence and translating it into music. Serving as an instrument I transmit through my voice, my words, and the different instruments that I play. Being connected with everything, disappearing, like a bridge joining the bodies of sound and silence.”

Morgan Sorne, known in his solo music project as SORNE, is an American singer-songwriter, composer, multi-media artist, music producer, and actor. His performances often feature an construct of self-made visual art pieces inspired by personal and cultural archetypes, a continual thread woven throughout his performance aesthetic.
SORNE performs and tours with a revolving cast of dancers, musicians and artists while working with local communities of peoples around the world to create unique participatory live experiences of his work, thus blurring the line between performer and audience member.  His musical style has been described as a combination of tribal, electronica, avant-garde, avant pop, alternative rock, and opera.
