Yes, it really has been fifteen years since Future Tech (aka Drumsound & Bassline Smith) signalled the beginning of the Technique Recordings odyssey with their eponymous debut collaboration. Since then, the drum and bass sound has spread its tendrils from the dark corners of the underground into the limelight of mainstream appreciation. And Technique has been at the forefront of that evolution all the way. So, here's an LP to show the world exactly what a decade and a half among the top tier of D&B labels sounds like.

Label heads Drumsound & Bassline Smith take pole position, dropping straight into the drama of the Friction-supported “Spring Heel Jack”. Then comes another of Technique's most recognisable acts, Tantrum Desire with the low-down funk of “Shuffle”, followed by another Friction-favourite from the bossmen with “Sputnik”. The big names keep coming throughout the album, as Crissy Criss supplies the VIP of his monumental “Create the Future” and the mighty Digital goes dubbed-out with a remix of “Phantasm”. Plus Drumsound & Bassline Smith's alter-ego 2DB pass through with the highly-grimey “Terrahawk” and L Plus delivers two precision-engineered killers in the form of “Red Planet” and “Going Down”.

Flipping the script, Technique new boys Document One strike from two angles with the laid-back “Jazz Club” and the dirty dancefloor uppercut of “Body Like Wow”. TREi takes us to the big room with “Here & Now”, and the ever-individual MaxNRG shows off his ability to combine energy with melody on “Far Frontiers of Space”. Erb N Dub and Skope recruit Mr Dirty Smirks, MC SMK himself, to bring some typically hard bars to “Pull it Back”. Kronology does what it says on the tin with some “Razor Sharp” technoid-jungle vibes. And Aussie badman Spectrem brings some hands-in-the-air euphoria with “Say Goodbye” and then roughen things up with “The Future”. Infrasonik take the honour of completing the collection with “Bricks Breaking”. The Nth º - OVERWERK

Cybertron is a fictional planet, the homeworld of the Transformers in the various fictional incarnations of the metaseries and toyline by Hasbro.[1] In the Japanese series, the planet is referred to as "Cybertron" (first shown on Japanese Galaxy Force packaging, despite the fact that "Cybertron" is the Japanese name for "Autobot") pronounced as セイバートロン Seibātoron. Cybertron is populated by mechanical life forms of variable size who can transform into all kinds of machinery. These are called Cybertronians, or Transformers.

The comic-book incarnation of Cybertron is described in the first issue as being the size of Saturn, which would logically mean it possessed incredibly dense gravity, and yet it did not, possibly as a result of its hollow structure, honeycombed as it is by tunnels. However, in later depictions the art suggests Cybertron is much smaller, particularly during the attack by Unicron (detailed in On the Edge of Extinction in UK #319 to #322, US #75), where the scale differences between humans, individual Transformers and the ‘planet-sized’ Unicron suggest Cybertron to be closer in size to the earths moon, as depicted in the cartoon continuity.
Cybertron has a metallic surface, although whether this extends to the core is debatable: in The Legacy of Unicron (UK #146 to #151) and later in Primal Scream (UK #259 to 261, US #61) it is revealed to have originally been ‘space junk’, the composition of which is unknown. The atmosphere is breathable by carbon-based life, but liquid water is rare enough on the planet that its existence is in doubt. Cybertron previously orbited Alpha Centauri, but was later thrown out of orbit and sent wandering through the galaxy.

We figured it was time for some d&b again, we had a few tracks lying around for a while that we wanted to finish and put out and we had 2 collabs that went well together. We wanted to call it the 'Tryhard EP', cause all the tracks were so full on. Then Nik & Karol (khomatech.com) started on the artwork, and couldnt really come up with anyuthing cool with that name, so we decided 'Imperial' was a better name. The artwork took about a week to make. We are very proud of this EP.

Imperial w/ Phace 
Phace came out to Groningen again, as he tends to do, to do music. We started this one without working on the main groove first, Florian had brought this awesome chord progrssion. We made the intro and progression from it, which is quite different musically from our normal stuff. Then we went a bit theatrical with the music, i guess we kind of suprised ourselves with the intensity of the drop. But it was refreshing to do. And it´s been going down rather well in our sets..

Tryhard 
This is an older track that has had quite a few incarnations. It used to be called ´lomp´, which translates to crude, or blunt. We had it lying around unfinished for a long time, and a certain youtube set rip was getting a lot of love, so we figured we'd finish it. Changed the mix, added a rollout section, etc. One of the inspriations for this track is Bad Company - 'Dogfight'.. such a sick tune.

Dustup w/ The Upbeats 
Our friends The Upbeats came down to Groningen amidst one of their Europe tours and we hung out, got in the studio, found an old unused bass riff, used it in the buildup, recorded all of us going 'HA' and 'ZU', worked on drum fills for a long time, temporarly called the tune 'Pumpers', jumped around in the studio and voila! 'Dust Up' was born.

Containment 
This track has had many faces also. It started as a bit of a Kemal tribute and and an attempt to do as many things with synths as possible, like the main drums for example (FM8). Along the way it became a journey back into the dark spacious sound of early 2000 era D&B.

DIASCOPE 002 is here.
While celebrating  and reflecting the past 10 years of Neonlight we came across of six tracks that have been released around 2009 and 2010 on Trust in Music. 

Regretfully the label does not exist anymore. So we decided to remaster these pretty cool tracks and make them available for everyone again.

For us every track is connected to memories and personal stories.  The Frozen Tape (formerly named as "frozen feet" - because of Jakob's freeeking cold flat share room in 2005), System Error (collaboration with the extremely talented Hedj - miss you bro - R.i.P.), Dessert (good times and vibes with Miss Redflower), Epidemic & Enter (first online collaboration buddy RolaR) and last but not least THE BLACKOUT (timezone collaboration hustle with Kiro from California) may recall good memories for the ones, or be completely new for the others. 

However, we hope you (still) like it as we do. :-)
