On it's initial release in 1991, ‘The Whistle Song’ earned Frankie Knuckles his first US Dance Chart number one and has subsequently become one of house music’s most iconic and recognisable productions. 

More recently, the track has been ‘Re-Directed’ under the Directors Cut project that Frankie worked on with Eric Kupper; his long-time studio collaborator and close friend. With Frankie Knuckles Day approaching next week, Cinthie now delivers a brand new remix on this stone-cold classic. Cinthie’s remix is a divine update of the original, holding the iconic whistle sample at the forefront whilst including dreamy electronic blends that allow the track to be heard from all angles; peak time club moments, sunrise sets, festivals and airwaves. 

This new rework is out for streaming and download from 20th August on SoSure Music.

SoSure Music imprint returns with its second vinyl release courtesy of Rucks with remixes from Eric Kupper and City Soul Project.

Rucks is a London based artist, whose sound is characterised by placing a contemporary spin on a traditional house sound. Reflections of his home turf resonate throughout his output and clearly influence his sound. Having gained initial support from reputable names such as DJ Sneak, Laurent Garnier, Mark Farina, Charles Webster and Larry Heard on their first release, SoSure Music have commissioned remixes from Eric Kupper and City Soul Project for 'Find Someone' to further cement their blossoming reputation.

Eric Kupper -  notably recognised for his contribution to Directors Cut and output via Hysteria in recent years - strips  things back on his mix. Bringing bright stab sequences and rumbling sub bass to the forefront, while low-slung drums and gradually blossoming pads keep things evolving over the reshapes six-minute duration.

Now based in Barcelona and Prague, Physical Education is the brainchild of Luke Scheybeler and David Philips. The duo’s production alias is synonymous with a soulful, jazzy, sample-heavy sound, meticulously crafted at their studio in the Pyrenees mountains. Born in Naples and currently based in Glasgow, Jame has been releasing music on labels such us Urbana, Quantize, Groove Culture, Toolroom and Stealth Records over the past few years; both as a solo artist and through a range of varied collaborations. 'Drive Your Momma' marries a driving house beat with a with punchy deep synth stabs and a classic Stax-style 60’s soul vocal with great effect. Don't sleep on this one.

Physical Education are back with a new single to close out the year. 

Following on from the success of the ’Sweet Talk EP’ (which included ’Sweet Talk’, ‘Oscar’, 'Work On This Soon' and ‘Dreamsville’), the guys are back with another dose of meticulously crafted soulful house. ‘All Be Over’ shifts direction from the jazz-influenced focus of their debut to deliver soul in spades as the duo fuse their signature drums with heavier bass and perfectly capture a vintage soulful vibe.

SoSure Music are pleased to present 'Anything About You' - the new collaboration from Yotto, You Are and CAPS.

Based in Helsinki, Yotto has recently released a single with Anjunabeats as well as picking up support from BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Pezzner, Joris Voorn and DJ W!ld. Yotto now returns to SoSure Music, alongside You Are Me (the multi-talented Anton Sonin working under his new guise) and vocalist CAPS, to follow up his debut ‘All I Want / Cycle’ EP.

The original mix of ‘Anything About You’ opens up the package and sees the trio deliver an infectious slice of contemporary house music with classic organ and elongated sub hooks, shuffling rhythms and CAPS emotive vocal stylings. Francesco Tarantini and Hector Romero from Def Mix turn in a typically house infused rework to follow, tipping the focus over to swinging house beats, vocal chops and classic house chord sequences. 

Opening the latter half of the single is a take on ‘Anything About You’ by Elrose which drops the tempo and instils a modern Nu-Disco aesthetic with funk laden bass licks and swirling Rhodes before the ‘Klubb Mix’ rounds things off with a frenzied, electro tinged feel.

Late May sees the return of SoSure Music co-founder Hollis Parker to the label with his latest EP ‘Have You’, comprised of two tracks from the New York born, London based artist.

Since his vinyl-only debut on SoSure Music in 2015, Hollis Parker has managed to consistently put out material that pays homage to his roots both in Hip Hop and House, garnering support from heavyweights such as Larry Heard, DJ Sneak, Charles Webster and Joyce Muniz to name a few.

A never before released version of a truly, legendary house record from the late great Frankie Knuckles…working in collaboration with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation who will receive 50% of the profits from this project, SoSure Music is proud to present the Director’s Cut re-production of ‘Baby Wants To Ride’.

 2011 saw the launch of Frankie and long-time production partner Eric Kupper’s ‘Director’s Cut’ project, with the aim to release new music, whilst re-producing classic cuts to fit with the modern dancefloor. SoSure Music is now working alongside Eric Kupper and Hector Romero, with the blessing of both Def Mix and The Frankie Knuckles Foundation, to bring a renewed focus to some of this material.

Having already featured on 'The Director's Cut Collection' LP, 'I'll Take You There' now gets a single release. The much sought-after 'Director’s Cut Classic Signature Mix' features alongside remixes from Moplen and Dimitri From Paris. The expertise of Italian edit cornerstone Moplen is enlisted to sprinkle his magic on a new remix for 2019. Drenched in luscious organs (courtesy of Dom Scuteri), Moplen expertly re-works the original with an extra slice of spiritual goodness. The Dimitri From Paris Re-Edit (from the 2011 original release on Nocturnal Groove) is also included.

Inspired by his recent travels to Tanzania, Shovell uses both tracks to reflect upon the spirit of the country and includes a range of audio samples recorded from African adventure.

SoSure Music continue to celebrate the legendary work of Directors Cut. This time Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper’s classic, ‘Get Over U’, gets the remix treatment from Tedd Patterson and Chambray. 

First up is Berlin-based Chambray who delivers an energetic and contemporary House meets disco rework, bright and uplifting with piano stabs, electronic claps and brilliantly reworked vocals. Tedd Patterson delivers a remix that retains the classic house feel; verging into disco territory with big strings and jazz influences whilst always maintaining the dancefloor focus. The B-side (on the vinyl release) focuses on the original mixes that Frankie and Eric produced in 2012 which still sound just as fresh today. Sami Dee serves up a brilliant edit of the Director’s Cut Mix while Frankie’s own Mr Director’s ‘Feels Good’ Dub takes the final slot. 

The two new remixes here combine with the original Director’s Cut versions to create a perfect package - one which would no doubt have received the seal of approval by Frankie himself. Altogether it is feel good house at its best.

Kicking off his production career with the aptly named ‘The Beginning’, Rioleval takes further steps to solidify his position and ‘Improvise At Noon’ holds many of the same values as his debut; funk, soul and jazz influences fused together with an underlying house sensibility. 

Rioleval takes key inspirations from the 90’s club scene and it is clear to see that the classic house sound is engrained  in his productions, keeping the faith with a genre he has explored and grown with throughout his career. ‘Improvise At Noon’  carries much of the same influences as his debut, with clear intent on providing groove driven house music, across both the title track and ‘Mini Drive.
