The year is 1999. Berlin, Leipziger Straße 166. 

Until then, the only techno parties I attended were the ones in my parents' basement with myself and my turntables. 
But somewhere I had read that if you like techno, you should definitely visit the Tresor. 

I can still remember very well the dark staircase downstairs. And then I stood there as a young boy, for the first time in Berlin, for the first time in the underground. 
It was overwhelming. fog machine, strobe, booming bass, sweat dripping from the ceiling, visibility a maximum of one meter. You could only see something when the flash light came on. Unbelievable what there was an energy. My gut feeling knew directly that I am so right here.

Now 24 years later I had the honor to play music for the most important techno club in the world. 
And it was insane. The energy I felt back then was still there. An unbelievable achievement to keep up this level for so many years as a club. 
Even a lanyard (above on the photo) that I bought during another visit in 2001 still holds ;-). Quality prevails. 

@tresorberlin was the foundation stone for my musical career. 
For that I am infinitely grateful to you. Please continue forever.

It was wonderful and a lot of fun. 

Great luck for me is also that my girlfriend @lealindnerdj shares the same passion and was there at the gig.

1 - How has the CIDS Djing story started ?

I was always drawn towards music, since very little I started playing with a toy organ at the age of 4, and later on my parents bought my first real electric piano at the age of 9. I used to play classical music and as I grew up I tried to portray my ideas on this instrument. At home, a variety of music would also be playing, but what specifically caught my attention were some very old vinyls from 80’s disco music and later on, my brother’s CD’s from artists such as Benny Benassi, Daft Punk, among others. As a grown-up, I started going to raves and clubs in Montevideo and I was very keen on House and Drum n’Bass, but what made my mind blow the moment I listened to it, was Techno. Immediately after, in 2018 I started trying my first mixes in my laptop using VirtualDJ, haha. As I started getting positive feedback I decided to make it more “real” by taking DJ lessons in Musike Academy in order to start using “a proper setup”.
I’ve had some up and downs along the way but never stopped since.


2 - Where do you generally draw your inspiration from ?

In order to prepare a playlist for a performance or a mix recording, I often draw inspiration from tidying up my house now that I realize haha, I’m a very organized person so I can spend lot of hours lost in music while doing simple everyday things.
I also try to analyze very well the artists that I like the most and learn from them and their sound. I think after so many years I could find my sound over the last few months and these are reflected in my productions as well, it feels finally authentic.
Also, I find a lot of support and inspiration in Fusion UY/ES, a Techno collective we have with a couple of friends, we always try to learn from each other and grow all together.


3 - Could you tell us more about your music selection and mixing process ? 

It depends on the mood and kind of mix I’m preparing. When I record a mix I always try to prepare something medium to high intensity, that makes you wanna hear more, but always leave my most beloved tracks for the dance floor for sure, so I can show the audience more of what you would hear typically in a pre-recorded mix. I always try to find emergent artists and specially songs which have that little something that has never been heard. I’m listening to a lot of tracks from Argentinian and Spanish artists lately.

5 - Whats your craziest dream? 

Good question, right now my dream, hope it’s not that crazy though, is to travel the world sharing my music. Thanks for the opportunity to let this happen, we’re already traveling the world if our music is heard in other countries :)

SOTO, real name Graciela Soto, born and raised in Venezuela, she moved to London in 2014 and quickly fell in love with the electrifying techno scene, dedicating herself to attending every party and festival she could to fully immerse herself in the culture.



In January 2019, SOTO made her debut at Angel in London for the Strange DNA crew and quickly made a name for herself with her energetic and captivating performances. Her unique style draws from a diverse range of influences, blending hypnotic melodies and hardcore industrial beats to create a sound that is entirely her own.



SOTO has performed at some of the most renowned venues in London, including FOLD, The Egg London, Electrowerkz, E1, Venue MOT, The Glove That Fits and Union Club; leaving crowds in awe with her electrifying sets. Her love for techno is huge and she has now played almost all the venues in Bristol, where she moved in 2023.



With her undeniable talent and dedication to her craft, SOTO is quickly becoming one of the most exciting rising stars in the world of techno music. In addition to her impressive live performances, SOTO made a splash in the techno world last summer with the release of her debut track "Core" on the esteemed label, Second State. The track showcases SOTO's unique blend of hypnotic melodies and driving beats, earning her widespread critical acclaim and solidifying her status as a rising star in the techno scene.



"Core" her first track released on SUM12 from Second State received widespread support from top techno DJs and was featured in sets by the likes of Pan-Pot owners of Second State Label. SOTO's success with "Core" has opened the door to exciting opportunities and collaborations in the future, cementing her status as a force to be reckoned with in the techno world. It was played during Pan Pot's closing set at Kappa Futur Festival on Torino in the summer of 2022.

She released her first EP with Diffuse Reality and also a single with NYXII, stay tuned for upcoming releases.

SOTO has also joined Black Heart Club and started an event series in Bristol where she resides.
