This is a live-recording from Sunday 5th May in the Vondelbunker from the band The Lock. The night was a collaboration between the Doek Festival (international improvisation festival) & SOTU. This night was the last event of the 5 day during Doek festival, SOTU kick started there first night also of there 5 day festival. 

The Lock is a new group born in the underground scene of Amsterdam. Formed in 2012, it presents a junction between free improvisation, electronics and noise. Those elements come together in the complementary phrasing of multi-noises and scary surprises. 
Coming from completely different places (Ireland, Brazil and The Netherlands) the trio has been chained together on the spirit of free music making, from noise to silence.

The Lock - DoekFestival - 2013

SOTU (Sound Of The Underground) is a new three day festival in Amsterdam, which is happening on the 11th - 12 - 13th. May 2012. The festival will concentrate on alternative & independent music culture with noise, indie pop, psychedelia, avant-garde, global bass, improv jazz and underground dance.

A number of significant local organizations have joined forces (many working together for the first time) in creating an exciting and diverse line-up. These organizations and collectives include: AV-Club, Bomb Diggy, Club Lederhosen, Experimental Yetzet, Future Friday Feartures, Hallo Gallo, Lemon Community, de Peper, Plattegrond, Schijnheilig, Subbacultcha!, Toztizok Zound. All are representing their own 'niche' , giving the festival a unique musical flavor that reflects much of the local scene here in a coherent context.
